Okay, so I've been vaping around 3 years now. When I first started, I researched the hell out of everything, and went with an eGo. It was in my price range, and has been a good fit for me this far.

About 6-8 months ago, I won a standard size Provari. It's been (gasp, sacrilege) sitting in my drawer, simply because I'm afraid of it, lol. It is only the provari, no batteries, charger, tank or anything else came with it.

So, I am ready to start using it.

My question is tanks. What is a good one to go with? I go thru roughly 5 mils of fluid a day.

Is there anything else you can think of that I need to get for my Provari to make my life happier? I am getting the 18650 batteries and the end cap needed for them, and the Pila 4 stage charger.

The thought of researching and reading all the provari threads makes me want to cry, and there is much I don't understand in the ones that I have read. :)

Can someone take pity on this provari newb?

Thanks!

I agree with Todd400. The Aspire Nautilus is great. Holds 5ml of e-liquid. I own 2 of them and no problems whatsoever with leaks, dry or burnt hits.

I did order new coils today because I found them for $15 for a 5 pack. Otherwise I usually rebuild the coils.

The Provari will surprise you on it's performance.....absolutely flawless. Once you use it you'll wonder why you didn't try it sooner.

Good Luck to You.

I love the iClear30s on mine, Simple to use and great taste/vapor.
Congratulations on your win! :vapor:

Ditto on the congrats!

Yeah, you really don't have to get too fancy/expensive/complex for a tank/topper if you don't want to..

I use the regular iClear 30 on my ProVari, and it works great.. Quick & easy to operate & maintain, only goes for $11-12, can fill it to 2.5 ml

Good flavor & vapor, and the quality, longevity & consistency are there

They guzzle juice a little more than usual, and can't carry around a 2nd one loose since you'll get a little leakage, but still a pretty good clearo

I also use the iClear 16.. a little smaller, with better flavor, a plastic/delrin mouthpiece, and can carry around a bunch with no leaking..

But you have to use a 510-to-510 adaptor (a few bucks) with a ProVari so they work (the 30 works fine without one)...

Depends on your vape budget, how much you can spend comfortably. IOW the skies the limit from dirt cheap to selling your first born son.

I started with lower priced carto tanks on my ProVari's, but soon moved up.

My all time favorite "carto" tanks for my ProVari's are the GP SnP 23mm tanks with their Pro Base added and a By Leo Sophia/STR to drive it. But things from Europe don't come cheap. About $100 for the tank w/PB, about $100 for the Sophia with some extra coils, $13 for an STR, and the shipping that will run another $30+ since they have to come from two sources. The Sophia is a rebuildable atomizer (RTA) with liquid flow control (way better than any carto made), and you can make it even better rewicking away from silica for truer/richer flavor.

My Bronze Mini with that set up... but I like it even better with my polished extension cap installed to run 18490 batts for a more balance look top and bottom. (The extra part in the picture is the original tank base/cap that needs a Pro Ring for a semi clean look on a ProVari)

By Leo Dripper Pro's are another solid winner, use the same coils.

I love, love, love the Sophia By Leo. I'm using mine with IBTanked tanks which are cheaper than the SnP. Doesn't look as good but it functions well.

Really any topper will work as long as it has a 510 connector. If you're already using something that you really like, I'd give that a try first. Might not have to buy a new topper.

You can get the iClear 30S toppers at FastTech for $9.84 each if you don't mind the wait for them. I bought several so I'd have them on hand when I needed them. I also like them a lot.

What tanks are you using now? I agree with the suggestions of the Aspire Nautilus tank. It's not scary or complicated. Coils can last anywhere from 2-3 weeks (YMMV).

When I was first starting I wasted a ton of money on tanks with replaceable coils. Then I bought a Russian 91% and a Provari Mini. That is all I have been using for over 6 months. Give wrapping your own coils a try. It is easy with a little practice and the flavor is great. Saves you a ton of money as well.

I started out using watts to set my devices (eGO-v v3, SID, MVP2) so setting by voltage was new to me. I heard someone on here state that a good rule of thumb is to set your voltage by adding '2' to the atty resistance. So for a Nautilus with a 2.1ohm coil, set your ProVari at 4.1v.

I actually find +2.2 works for me better.

Just food for thought!
