Wood Tip maintenence

I ordered a new Ebony wood drip tip and would like to know if their are any special care instructions? I don't want to ruin it.

They do make non toxic salad bowl finish. I know I have seen it at wood working hobby stores. You may also find it at Michaels or Hobby lobby.
Or you could use a light salad oil but it may get sticky.
