That looks to be in very good shape now, should be amazing after a trip to the SPA. This is the first time I noticed the raised panel effect on the front.

Matching one on the back. Rob sure used a lot of wood back then, but it's a tribute to how well he made them (and how well it was taken care of) that it's still vaping strong via a 305 to 510 adapter after all this time. :vapor:

She will be getting a complete refurbish and sex change operation (blame nerak for the expression LOL) to have all the modern conveniences. 510 connection, updated gold contacts and knowing Rob updated wiring. I really love the plunger. Not pocket friendly, but I'm never taking this one out of the house. Someone suggested Rob do a "retro" version one of these days. (Older styling, including squonk plunger, but modern internals) Basically like I'm having done, but new. I think they would be a hit. Lots of people seem to like the old REO engraved plungered wooden Reos and would love to own one without having to constantly stalk the classies and deal with the limitations of the older materials. (Me included)

And the after pictures. It feels awesome with the natural finish. Rob really out did himself on restoring and upgrading this Wooden Reo. Thanks a million Rob.

Love it Ken! Absolutely beautiful, really nice wood! Sometimes I can't help wonder though if the Woodvils would look slightly better with the smaller 18490 Woodvil fire switch with its brass surround, but I guess I'm probably the only one who feels this way. That's just a classic look though with those square shoulders and the brass squonk knob. Be interesting if Rob would re-issue that shape, I guess he's still got the program or whatever it is called for the machines to make it.

Just exquisite. The natural finish was definitely the way to go. Rob's rehab work is amazing. How's it vape?

I'm glad you asked Mack. It's really strange.... it totally vapes like a Woodvil and yet it says REO right on the front. There may be something wrong with it.

I've wondered the same thing Ian. I love the button on the 18490 Woodvils, not as crazy about the large horn type button on the full sized. With this oldie it makes since, but I have a feeling that the new mechanical Woodvils Rob will be releasing are going to have a completely different button than what is currently being used.
