I knew better - trying to pull the cap off an atty I loosened the 510. Came up about 1/8"
It pushes back down flush with the wood but is loose enough that when I push the tubing on it pushes the 510 back up.
What to do? glue? to the spa?

I think I read in the main woodvil thread, that happened to someone else, and I think Rob said superglue, but I would wait to hear from someone who knows for sure. Good luck

Carefully apply superglue around the 510, preferably on the inside, so you don't get glue on the exterior. Or, you can send it to Rob; but he will basically do the same thing. He'll superglue it.
Unless your atty has a fairly easy to remove top cap, it's always better to take the atty off the Woodvil.

Not only pull off caps, a drip tip can stick and be hard to remove. It happened to me. Without thinking I tugged pretty hard on that tip. The 510 on my 2015 Woodvil came loose. I sent mine to Robert because I wanted him to check something else also.

I learned it is always best to remove the rba, or at least the top cap for a stuck drip tip!

I keep one tube mech around for precisely this reason. It's my atty cap puller. No sense risking a 510 on either a mod or an ohm checker.

I have a top tube with the 510 from an old telescope mechanical mod, that I use for building and top cap pulling.

Good advice. I just ruined my ohm checker a couple days ago. Tightened the atty down too much trying to pull top cap.

I have a regulated tube that I'll never use again, and no one will buy it because the producer fell off the grid. Time to repurpose.

My "cap puller" is a SS atty stand that was made for displaying/building atty's on that I wouldn't use otherwise. Was about $12 at the time bought.

But in general I don't put up with overly tight push on top caps. Atty's with more than one cap o-ring become atty's with only one o-ring (the lowest one); those with only one cap o-ring that are tight either get a smaller size o-ring in cross section, the stock o-ring gets sanded or they get lubed so they slide off easier.

Improperly fitting top caps/o rings are one of my pet peeves. A top cap that either falls off, or one that makes your face turn blue, trying to pull it off, spoils the experience of an otherwise good vape. There's no reason for it, in today's world of CNC machining.
Example: I've mentioned many times that my favorite atty is the Manta V2. I have several. But the stock top cap fit is terrible. It's one that makes the veins pop out in your neck, getting the cap off. After doing a little research and experimenting, I found that a pair of 19mm x 1.0mm Buna70 o rings, in place of the stock ones, fit perfectly. The cap goes on and off easily, even on a Woodvil.
Other times, such as the RM4s (Atomics), I've done the dental floss trick, to tighten up the fit.

Agree when a new atty is poorly engineered, especially when it is an authentic like the 2 Manta's I can't use because of other issues that need to be repaired or replaced the MFG sent them out with when I can get them sent back.

I don't normally pick my Reos up by the atty, but I could. IOW, just one stock o-ring, or just sanding the one remaining stock o-ring just right eliminates the tight fit without making the cap too loose. Normally I'll pull extra stock o-rings first, if that doesn't do it lube it, sand it next. Replacing stock with another size o-ring is last on my short list before the atty just goes into a dark corner in "The Box" with everything else bought that will never be used again.

That's a gorgeous stand, Danny.

@Spydro, what grit sand paper do you use for sanding o rings?

It doesn't take much, so no need to get too aggressive brother. I usually wet sand them while installed on the atty with 320 emery cloth torn to an appropriate width to facilitate sanding the o-ring(s) only, and long enough to go around with extra to pinch together grit side to grit with finger/thumb to tighten it around the atty (or just wrapped around a finger grit side out for sanding internal o-rings).
