First post mostly to say hi. I've been visiting/lurking for a few weeks now but *I* messed up trying to register and it took awhile to get that fixed. Anyway I love this Forum for the wealth of information available. You folks have helped me make some good decisions to improve my vaping experience & save some money in the process, and I learn something new every time I visit. Thanks for all you do!

I've only been experimenting with e-cigarettes for a couple months so I have a lot to learn about them. From info gleaned here I was able to determine a good next-step from the ripoff "free trial" deal I started with. The cost of that initial experience was defrayed by the education it provided; an old friend saw my struggle online & sent me a link for this Forum. I'm sure such ripoffs drive many potential vapers away but I'm a stubborn old man - it just made me more determined. All I needed was a little more knowledge, and I'm finding it here. :2cool:

Welcome to ECF Warren. May I ask what you got? Just curious to know what people have :). I have a joye 510 and an eGo passthrough, and use smoktech dual coils on both. The eGo is my main vape with whatever I mix for the day, 14mg or so, I love it, and I keep the 510 filled with 18mg tobacco flavor for those once in a while nic cravings.

Thanks Tracey1, I'm happy to finally be able to post, though so far most of my questions have already been answered somewhere on the Forum if I can find the right thread. As to the set up, I like to tinker and after looking over various reviews decided on the E-Power 14650. So far I'm loving it but have only used a couple different types of LR cartos. Been reading some great reviews for the Resurrectors (Rejuvenators?) & plan to order a few of those. I got this thing with 3 LARGE Smok Tech duel coil LR cartos, then bought some S.T. XL 1.7 ohm single coils to try. So far both types are good but I love the ones I got with it... I think they hold around 7ml.

Anyway I haven't been this excited about any material thing in a long time. Been smoking almost half a century, about 1.5 PAD for many years, and I've never really *wanted* to quit before. I knew I needed to quit and even tried to a few times, but my heart just wasn't in it. I still haven't entirely put the analogs down, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and that light is a pretty sight from here. For the last few weeks my consumption of full-flavor analogs has dropped from about 30 a day to 6 or 7, and that's without any effort. I'm finding I kinda like my nicotine fix tasting like fudge brownies (or whatever) instead of burning tobacco!

I know what you mean, it tastes so much better after 35+ years of analogs (both filter and non-filter). You're doing great, from over a PAD to 6 or 7, and there is no rush to put them down, you can go at your own pace. Some people will always have one now and then, and some quit the first day. It's all in what you want out of it (and I like my DIY mounds flavor, a bit weak but as you said, it tastes a lot better than what I was sucking on :).

Welcome!! I'm just past my first month. I gave up 3 days before I tried my first rip off e-cig. I tried the e-cig because I knew by the third day I wouldn't last with patches/cold turkey lol. Since I got my ego I've been going great. Only had one bad stressed out day and proudly didn't cave just vaped more stronger juice that day lol. Glad your here I hope you achieve your goals at your pace. Congrats

Thanks Balthezar, mostly now I'm using the E-Power 14650 with these right massive duel coil cartos (gotta get some more of them but at about $4 a pop I'm hoping they'll hold up well). I bought it from Sweet-Vapes, along with 6 flavors of juice - all 18mg except two bottles (6ML?) of Fudge Brownie in 24mg. Of the flavors and the strength I got I really like the FB in 24, so when I ordered a few flavors to try Gourmet Vapor got them all in 24mg. The learning curve is a bit steeper than I expected, stuff like not inhaling so deeply, etc... not really 'learning' so much as getting used to the difference. But I'm finding the more I vape, the more satisfying it becomes.

I should note here that I have no sense of smell whatsoever, so flavor differences are mostly lost on me. I lost it some years ago due to a head injury, and since then have sought flavors, textures, etc. powerful enough to get my attention without the sensation of aroma most folks experience. So far this is proving to be a real challenge in trying to find the right juices, and I expect this will continue from now on. OTOH I may notice differences in the texture of juices that most people might miss, I don't know. It's pretty exciting to play with anyhow, and hope springs eternal. At the moment I firmly believe my foray into vaping and away from smoking probably represents one of the best decisions I ever made!

Thanks Dyanne. So far, so good! I actually bought a SECOND semi-ripoff e-cig while waiting for my package to come in the mail... the 2nd one wasn't so much of a ripoff, just overpriced... and by then I knew what I was doing, sort of. My smoking had decreased dramatically and if I didn't do something fast I knew it would shoot right back up. Sweet-Vapes shipped my order very promptly via "Priority Mail", but our beloved USPS seems to have lost its spirit since it got rid of the ponies; what by their own reckoning should have taken "1-3 days" took 6. Again, Sweet-Vapes was very prompt and a real pleasure to deal with so I will be ordering from them again. (On that note, I've also gotten orders from Gourmet Vapor and Hoosier E-Cig Supply, and with each vendor their service was excellent as well.)

Yep Balth, I'm in no particular hurry but I like that the analogs just keep getting less enjoyable while the vapor gets more so. I also smoke a pipe from time to time (and inhale them just as I do a cigarette). So far I don't know if enjoyment of the pipes will diminish or not, but if it doesn't I may find I don't inhale as deeply... or not. However it goes it'll be an interesting ride.

It is an interesting ride :) Can be both fun and frustrating, but for the most part I am ENJOYING THE HECK OUT OF IT ! lol. There are some flavors that you taste with your tongue..what are they? sweet, sour, umm....where's dormouse when you need her expertise heheh. Anyway, if you find those 4 flavors then the sense of smell isn't as important. Dormouse may chime in soon (I hope, to get me off the hook).

Balth, I *think* I read a post by Dormouse yesterday in which she listed the "tongue flavors" (for lack of a better term). I believe they are sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and 'msg'. (I think msg occupies a flavor classification all its own, though it mostly just tastes salty to me.) I never really valued my sense of smell until I lost it but I can tell you, that loss requires a total reevaluation of one's concept of taste. If you've ever had a really bad head cold where everything you eat tastes like cardboard, you'll sort of know what I mean. Through that experience I learned pretty rapidly that cardboard tastes a lot more interesting drenched in Tabasco, and coffee tastes best in a more concentrated form than most folks seem to prefer. I also pay a lot more attention to textures than I used to and have learned to enjoy a few things (anchovies come to mind) I once found repulsive. I figure it's all just part of life's learning curve, which is different for everyone. Life is sweet, and vaping is making mine sweeter by the day! :p

That's great, Warren. And you got the tastes right, I just went blank this morning, had been up all night. Hope your vapes don't taste like cardboard (although that would be an improvement over analogs I think ;)) Oh, and since I DIY my juices, and I love to put hot sauce on everything,(including but not limited to my waffles with syrup..........hmmm, maybe a vape with....) I might create a spicey burrito type vape. Any takers? (on the waffle one too LOL)

Hi Warren, Glad to see you found this place and who you calling old, I am not. Love vaping, we had Dads birthday party at a best western down here and the manager had no problem with me using it inside. Passed out some more cards to family as they all had to go out and smoke, may get a few more started on this habit instead of the bad one.
