Wool Batting / Roving for wick?

Got my first rba and loving it. Have wicked with silica and cotton balls. I've seen things like EkoWool and was wondering if unbleached wool roving (like the kind you might use to spin wool yarn) could be suitable for wicking the same way you'd wick with cotton balls. Anyone have experience with that as a wicking medium?

Ive never tried wool products but I did hear that a dry hit/burn on it is the ultimate in nasty....

yea I'd imagine a dry hit would be horrid.

I realized I should mention that I know that EkoWool isn't 'wool' at all, but just that the name got me thinking, lol.
