Dickerman is cool with it. Most of the WJRR DJ's are on board with us...Once TacoBob stops driving around in his Nicmobile and gets onto vaping they won't be able to shut him up. Didn't think of it til now, but I should have emailed all the DJ's about National vaping Day on Wednesday and I'm sure they would have gotten the word out for us. :blink:

haha sent Dickerman an email today thanking him for the shout out and he replied back with: "All good. I used as an opportunity to bust Supa’s balls too."

This may be too early to be a visible question, or perhaps already asked, (I didn't read the last 10 pages or so.) but has anybody gotten any feedback on our emails? Has any news media picked up the story?

It would have been nice but I don't want anyone to be disheartened by them not giving any feedback. Yesterday was a huge success! Look at the response and effort displayed by this community. Now they know we are watching and they also realize now that we do have the capability to stand together as one. I was very impressed and can't even begin to say how pleased I am to be a member of this community.

Thanks everyone for your input to this email bomb that we did - it's all appreciated by me and one non-smoker.

Got a couple thoughts running through my brain:
1. perhaps taking those who offered to help - can map out their 'regions' they can cover - ie, local news, local radio, local tv, etc.
2. then each of us could research how to contact the important folks to get the word out through in their public forums...
3. we then 'gather ?here?' 2 weeks before the 'next date' and share all the 'good email addresses' for the regions of the US for other fellow worker-bees to use too, with their personal emails to same lists..
4. I say we do this more often than once a year - perhaps monthly or weekly - since it's obvious we want the more positive stuff being made public about our victories over the smokes using e-cigs /PVs...

whatcha think? (we can let Robin take a couple days off any monitoring and catch up on her sleep, tho)

I agree and thanks to you and Robin for spear heading this for us all! We will grow by numbers and each year, our voices will be heard! We can plan for next year and I think we need to take mental notes of Twitter/FB and other social medias. Maybe start collecting "addresses" for those and flood the social media next year.

Congrats to all who participated!!

I got these 3 emails early this morning. Copied and pasted from the actual emails:

I kept getting similar notifications daily except they stated that delivery was still being processed. They were aborted this morning. I hope at least some of the recipients received an email.

I'm hoping you both are the exception and not the rule. :nun:

Not to worry, Robin. It just occurred to me that I got 3 immediate confirmations that my emails were received on Thursday. I had forgotten about that. I have already deleted the confirmations but I remember that one of them was from New York Times. There were 2 more but I don't remember who they were from.

I got a mail deliver error on these on the 20th:

The following recipients did not receive this message:

<dateline@news.nbc.com>
<nightly@news.nbc.com>
<today@news.nbc.com>

The same ones that Snowdog mentioned.

But the only confirmation one was from the NYT, but even it was confusing...

ABC 13 in Houston will be airing an e-cig piece in one hour. If you have a minute, please leave a comment on their FB page if/when they add it later. ABC13 KTRK. It sounds like it will be about 'oh my gerd it's not regulated and teens can buy them'.

We could possibly influence some media outlets, but we also need to focus on spreading the word to anyone and everyone. Most of the media is bought and paid for.

Thanks for the heads up. It still isn't on their fb page yet. I will look again later.

This is the video but no where to comment: http:// abclocal.go.com/ktrk/html5/video?id=9260526&pid=null&section=null

On the preview for the piece an hour before, it showed the lady being interviewed saying basically 'the reinforcing properties of nicotine in e-cigs isn't as strong/bad as the reinforcing properties of cigarettes'. They left that part out in the 'full' <2 min piece. *Sigh*....could've been worse I guess. Thanks for keeping an eye out. I figure it's a big city and a good number of people may see the comments. :)

Somewhere in the threads, someone posted a link to this ABC article:

5 Facts About E-Cigarettes - ABC News

When I got there to read the story, there were 4 negative comments regarding the article and the use of e-cigarettes, I posted and in the last few days positive information has been shared, and even people who have never smoked or vaped are getting in on the comments and learning more positive attributes to vaping over smoking.
