paypal is also 2$ per transaction without a vendor account. I think E-checks would be a pain for you as a vendor. The order would be on hold until, possibly, the check clears. The development involved to change your inhouse systems and external UI's would be a dev nightmare as you would now have to break orders into different fulfillment pending lists, payment reporting, associated fees......

Even small town banks in Oklahoma offer debit cards these days, usually for no fee, so unless you were floating the funds...in which case the order is denied...it would make little to no difference. Another bonus from the vendor perspective is that bank/credit cards are generally backed by Visa or MC, so you are guaranteed payment.

I use a country bank. Cause they are small if there is fraud in an area they restrict using as credit only debit. Since we can't do debit on line and we are totally Dave Ramsey and don't use credit. I would use echeck then. I was trying to buy something online from someone in new jersey I have bought from them before. They have similar set up with merchant account and my debit card was blocked due to fraud ring currently going on. I could not make my purchase at all since they don't take echecks. Cause bank is small they can't afford to take huge loses from that kind of thing.
