I started vaping a few weeks ago, (I'd have to check my very first post on here to confirm when I actually started) and have since passed on what little e-cig info I know to others. I'm in college and had been assigned an essay and of course I picked the electronic cigarette as the greatest invention in 20th century (yes,I'm aware we're in the 21st century) I've discovered the Tobaccoharmreduction.org site and wow, links to everything regarding studies, silencing of data etc...and I'm more than ever convinced that I'm on the right path to conquering cigarettes once and for all (I still have my one analog in the morning but I'm pleased to announce that I was able to put it off for a whole hour, at this point I think it's metal attachment thing that keeps me having it). Anyways, does anyone on here have some links to some good literature on why e-cigs aren't a good way to quit? Since I'm arguing for e-cigs, I do need to refute some claims of why they aren't good but I'm not sure where to find these claims (got my refutable claims from Professor Siegel but I don't know who exactly he is refuting.) For those of you who are still unsure, research research research, I'm not saying e-cigs are healthy but I am saying they are a heck of a lot LESS HARMFUL than analogs! Thanks every one!

...but you are not introducing the rumored 4000 different chemicals into your body, 60 of which are known cancer agents.

I have accepted the fact the fact that I probably will always be addicted to nicotine. So be it. vaping takes care of that. I do know that I can now breath much easier. I have gone from a pack a day down to 6 analogs a day, and often time less.

Welcome, enjoy, and experiment. You are really going to enjoy the support, knowledge, and adivse of the inmates in this forum.

I am not sure e-cigs are a way to quit. I don't treat it that way. I look at it as a better alternative. Your still vaping nicotine which has cardiovascular implications.

That's honestly exactly how I feel. Sure you can ween yourself off nicotine, but I enjoy smoking/nicotine so much that it's just nice to have a safer alternative.

You are allowed to step down the nicotine level at any time you choose. In fact, after my current juice is depleted, I'm stepping down from 2.4 to 1.8 mg. I plan to weaken it even further after that.

I have come to the (totally unscientific) conclusion that most of the resistance to e-cigs is due to the very reason they work so well as a smoking reduction/cessation system...they act and, in many cases, look just like cigarettes. Non-smokers don't get it and never will so they just look at it as another cigarette and want to diss it due to ignorance (why don't you just quite?).

Anywhah, that's my well researched (not) findings on the subject. Good luck with your essay and keep spreading the vape to your college friends!

Get a list of what is in a cigarette. Then list what is in an e-cig. Explain that you are producing water vapor, not smoke. Get the ingredients of medical inhalers, they contain propylene glycol, the same thing that we use in e-cigs. Explain to the one's who claim you're inhaling antifreeze. Antifreeze is ethyl glycol, we use propylene glycol. Make them aware that e-cigs ARE NOT marketed to minors; they are sold behind the counter, and you're ID'ed just as if you're buying cigarettes. Explain the complications of using drugs for cessation, and the warning labels they have.

I stopped cigarettes on January 10th and started vaping and it has been a LONG journey but you really do feel better vaping than smoking.
I can breathe easier and I don't get tired as easy and not to mention I'm not inhaling thousands of chemicals.
Vaping has got to be a million times better for you than smoking cigs.
