I've been speaking to Brandon for V4L (Vapor 4 Life) and it just occured to me... I've been analog-free since 2009. Time flies.
So, here's an update for you old dogs, and anyone that came to the forum wondering about the whole E-Cig thing.
I was in the military, and approaching 40, and it was becoming more and more obvious my health was declining. I worked out almost daily (being in the military), so I had a pretty good way to assess my health. What I was finding was that my Age wasn't as much to blame for my health as smoking was. When you cough and it sounds like your lungs are filled with liquid, or you catch every cold/flu bug that gets within a mile of you, it's time to take stock of what you may be doing to cause it.
So, I switched to E-Cigs. I started by going to Google and found this forum. Then I started reading/watching reviews. Then I ordered my first E-Cig from V4L. Since then, I've tried multiple mods including The Chuck (search the forum), Silver Bullet, and ProVari (which I'm still using today). My Chuck was stolen out of my car a while back (.......s) or I'd probably still be using it. Side Note: Custom Artwork on your smoking device REALLY helps seal the deal; it turns it into a "personal" device which makes you feel more attached to it... and let me tell you, not putting the thing down and enjoying showing it off went a LONG way to keeping me off cigarettes.
Anyhow, now it's 2013 and I'm still smoke-free. I don't wheeze when I breath, and I'm not as sickly as I used to be. And let me point out that I've been out of the military for about 2 years now and I'm not working out like I used to... but I still feel great.
Smoking + Working out = felt like .....
Not Smoking + Semi-working out = Best I've felt in a LONG time.
Moral of the story: Yes, you want to quit smoking cigarettes and switch to E-Cigs. And if you need help, there are PLENTY of people here willing to walk you through it. But the best advice I can give you is go all-in. Don't stop by the corner store and buy one of those over-priced, piece of .... kits. Best case scenario, go to a vaping Event and try stuff out. Second best, check around and see if you know any E-smokers and ask them to let you try their device. And either way, when you find a device that screams, "You want to smoke me!", lay down the cash and do it. For me, it was The Chuck with my custom artwork (http://thagbuilt.com/wp-content/gallery/customgraphics/100_2516.jpg) and V4L's pre-filled cartos. But whichever you go with, the more you like looking at it, vaping it, and showing it off, the better your odds of sticking with it and quitting cigarettes.
