Wowzers! Well I guess it's time to start diy juice.

I've been going though a bottle and a half to two full bottles a day. Yikes!

But if this is the sacrifice I have to make for the perfect vape, I'm more than okay with it. I just need to start mixing my own special juice to mitigate some of the cost. No biggie, I was looking into it anyway, this is just the kick in the ... I needed.

I know there's a day sub, but any suggestions from fellow residents of Reoville? (I wanted to say Reovillians, but it looks too much like REO villains.)

Thanks in advance!

Agreed, but at least I'll be saving money somewhere.

I'm in the same boat. Since I've gotten the Reo I've been going through gallons of juice.

I've noticed that alot of folks are using unflavored Nic, which I'm going to try. It is considerably cheaper. But I also would like to come up with my own flavored juice. I've been reading through the DIY sub forums, but I greatly value the opinions of the fine folks here in Reoville so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I use wizardlabs.us for all my diy stuff. Mostly i vape unflavored nic with 100% pg.
Sometimes i do add a few drops of flavoring to a bottle but not often.
The unflavored with pg has a sweet taste that i really like a lot :)

Can't go wrong with RTD Vapor as well, for supplies. Here's how I do it. I vape 18mg, so I bought 36mg PG, and 0mg VG, and a bunch of flavors that I thought would be good together. I ended making one I really like on my first try. It's an RY4 with apple and almond. It's been my all day vape for a while now. At home I have some vendor bought juices that I vape in the evening. DIY was actually pretty easy. I have several syringes with some pretty large needles, and I just pull the plunger out and mix in the syringe (with the cap on), then I use the syringe to fill the bottle. Going to whip up another batch or two this weekend, and probably try to come up with another new recipe as well.

A few general tips I can give:

- Read all of the stickies in the DIY sub-forum

- Start out with a lower nic base concentration (36mg-48mg) to learn how to mix safely

- Get LOTS of small bottles (for sample mixes) and syringes (1ml, 3ml, and a few 10 ml)

- Local pharmacies will give you dosing syringes for FREE (I hit up CVS every couple weeks)

- Look up some recipes in the DIY sub-forum and buy some complimentary flavors

- Find ECF's "Hoosier" and read his blog about "butterfly farts"

well here's a thread after my own heart:)
I was where you are 1 month ago. I vape between 10-12ml a day:D

My first stop was Nudenicotine for some unflavored 100%vg at my usual 6mg. WOW talk about saving! 8 bucks for 120ml vs 62 bucks for my usual flavored 120ml bottle.
Next I went to the Flavorsapprenctice for some concentrates, again wow, only 3 bucks per flavor. So I just bought 8 different ones in my style (menthol, wintergreen, sweetner, cream sweetner, rootbeer, sweet orange, orange cream, vanilla swirl,)
I didn't buy anything else and man I felt like I was getting off easy compared to what I usually spend. I just used old empty bottles to mix in, and did the mixing by eye and taste.

I read 2.5%-10% to flavor. I've found pure VG requires the higher concentrate %. So that gave me a starting point, I shake a bottle, drip into my RM2 and taste! I'll adjust from there. I always start low with concentrates cause adding a lil more is easy, too much and I might have ruined it. I mix in 30ml old bottles and usually start with it half full and add what I perceive to be a tenth more volume.

I don't plan on measuring anytime soon. I like the "feel" of cooking on the fly and it keeps it a little different each time, like grandma's home cooked meals. So far everything I've played with has been quite nice.
One of my recipes I try for is like a minty menthol. I prepare like this, half a 30ml bottle of unflavored pg, about a tenth of wintergreen, about 5 drops of liquid menthol, and about half the amount of the wintergreen I added in sweetner. If it's too strong I just add more vg to the space left in the bottle and tame it. I never bother shooting for a specific amount. Sometimes I end up filling the whole 30ml bottle, sometimes it ends up only 3/4's full when I like the flavor.
That's been my plan and I'm sticking to it for awhile:D

I also found that wizardlabs sells all the items I ordered in one place. Nude nicotine just added flavor concentrates since my first order. I just ordered more unflavored from them yesterday, this time in 30/70pg-vg and a menthol and vanilla concentrate.

Good luck, set aside any doubt, read read read, have fun, and do it anyway you like it:)

Thanks for all the tips and encouragement guise!

I think to start off and make it easy, next paycheck I'm just gonna get 100% VG nic juice and some flavorings and go from there. I'm vaping mostly MBV juices right now, so I doubt I'll even notice much of a change.

Plus I gotta have something to research and do now that I'm no longer looking for next big new Atty or mod. And I gotta find a way to save up for my second REO. Sounds like diy will kill both of those birds!

Find ECF's "Hoosier" and read his blog about "butterfly farts"

All three of Hoosier's blogs should be required reading for all who venture into the world of DIY.

I recently made a large purchase of nicotine base liquid. If my final mixes are 15mg/mL and I vape 3mL per day, I've got enough nic in my freezer to last me 10.9 years. Including flavoring, my DIYs cost me 6.9¢ per mL.

DIY can be both frustrating and incredibly fulfilling. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes to tinker and play mad scientist.

EDITED TO ADD: I recently purchased some of Hangsen's flavorings. I'm kicking myself in the .... for not trying them sooner.

I used to think that way but I found the juices I love have so much flavor that I can cut them down big time.

So I've been buying my fave juice and using it like flavoring some of as little as 20% :D

Best of both worlds, great flavors at 1/5th the price.

RTD Vapor is where I get my batteries.
