Wrapping a micro coil for a Protank or "Protank like".

I wrapped 32 Khanthal 8 times touching each other on a 2MM Silica wick. Inserted two 1mm silica on top to prevent leaking aka "Flavor wick."

2.3 Ohms with copious plumes of vapor.

Nice. Amazing you can wrap that and not touch the ends of the cup.

I find that 30g Kanthal is the best for building a microcoil for my Protank, I've also tried 28 and 32g - 30 is my favorite thickness.. I use about 10 wraps of 30g Kanthal and get around 1.9-2.1Ω

I loveeee the microcoil on my protank, but still looking for better performance

What do u guys use to stabilize the coil as u do the wraps.

A wrench in one hand and my PV in the other.

I use a 1/16" diameter screw driver.

I use a 5/64th drill bit and 30g kanthal. All I do is pull about three inches of wire from the spool, twist a little less than an inch over one way and then the other two inches I twist around as close and tight as possible. Once I have just over an inch on the end side, I slide it off the bit and thread my cotton yarn wick through. Its almost the perfect size, though I think I might like a smaller diameter piece to wrap around.

Mine are usually around 1.5-1.7ohms with 8 wraps.
