Okay.

I ordered a bunch of wire samples in shortish lengths in order to test 22 and 24 gauge kanthal. I usually use 26 and 28, so now I have all these little packets and no idea where to start.

I'd rather not use up all my wire in useless builds, so I'm wondering if there's a chart somewhere that shows how many wraps one needs to build various coils to various ohms?

I generally build 1.0 to 1.4 ohm coils using 1/16th micros, if that helps.

And thanks!

I find that a bit confusing. So muddled.

Wouldn't it be easier to do something like....

28 gauge Kanthal wrapped around a 1/16 drill bit = .12 ohms per wrap
30 gauge Kanthal wrapped around a 1/16 drill bit = .2 ohms per wrap
32 gauge Kanthal wrapped around a 1/16 drill bit = .24 ohms per wrap

That way you can use it as a guide to target specific ohm ranges of a coil build before you start. If you want a 1.5 ohm coil with 30g Kanthal it's 7.5 wraps. If you want a 2.0 ohm coil it's 10 wraps.
