I guess I'm on a bit of a roll here so I might as well do another post on this. Health risks abound in our modern society. You cannot even turn around without incurring a fairly significant amount of it. If I were to go into all of the everyday things that pose these risks, just to mention them would take many posts as they have character limits.
Health risks are but one type of risk of course. We have to manage these risks every day, and with risk always comes a fair bit of uncertainty.
Now let's look at smoking, something almost all of us practiced at one point. It's fair to say that the risks from smoking are considered very high, with good evidence. Now what a lot of people are confused about is the fact that smoking causes the diseases for which it is blamed. It in fact doesn't cause anything, although it is a contributing factor in many of these disease states.
You might think that this is the same thing, but it is not. People can smoke and live to a very old age in fact and die of natural causes, although just about every time a smoker dies smoking is blamed. Now smoking causes changes in one's body and we can be absolutely certain of that, but the body is able to handle it almost every time.
Let's take cancer for instance. The average person "gets" cancer several times a day, whether they smoke or not. However, a healthy immune system will kill off these cancer cells. It's only when the immune system is compromised and is weakened to a great extent that the body's natural defenses break down.
The number one cause of every Western disease, or should we say the number one contributing factor, is stress. In addition to this, there are other major ones, like the litany of environmental toxins, all of the meds that people take these days, prescription and otherwise, the mutation of much of our food supply, and so on.
The body is amazingly skilled at dealing with all of this in spite of much of it being very recent in evolutionary terms. We can handle a lot before we even get very sick.
So the reason why I'm bringing all of this up is that looking at comparing two things like nic juice and WTA juice is pretty insignificant indeed. If people are thinking, well we need direct research to feel safe, well you better stay inside because the air outside is definitely bad for your health, and probably a lot more so than vaping. You better not stay inside though because indoor air is much more toxic as a matter of fact.
You could spend a few grand on state of the art air purification but then there's all of the other things that we need to worry about, so while that might be a good idea, and I in fact have spent a few grand on this stuff myself, you're far from being in the clear. If you build yourself a bubble you will still be far from safe. Your next meal probably contains genetically modified food, and the risk of that is virtually unknown, and just about everyone is afraid to even contemplate researching it., or face complete ruination.
I won't go into all of this any more other than to say that life on Earth is a very dangerous place and we always need to maintain perspective. Many things are proven to be harmful, and much is unknown. So we have to use our best judgement here and especially not look to become too concerned with what is essentially minor considerations between two substances of relatively unknown risk profiles as is the case with regular nicotine and nicotine plus, with no real good reason to believe either is harmful in any real significant way.
