So i just got a shipment from My ecig Supply. I got 2 new EGO 900mAh batteries. I plugged them into my charger (the 420mah 4.2V fast charger that I got with my first ego) and I started to smell something funny. I look down and it appeared that my battery was done charging. Thats weird, I thought. I checked to see if that was the case and it didnt fire. Blinked like it was out of batts. Re seated it, the light turned red, then back to green. Hmmm.... I plug my other battery in and immediate I hear a sizzling sound and that smell again. Now both are dead. They smell like primer. How can this be? I just charged my Hello 016 last night without any problems. Any ideas?

ohhh.. ur saying that the hello could have done it? hmmmm.... ill look into that.
I just checked and the hello I charged last night is operational. im tempted to try charging the other hello i have but im gonna resist. Dont want it to die too. Maybe it has some kind of short circuit protection that the ego doesnt have>?
When I plug the egos in they still blink, but when i remove them they dont work and the light on the charger stays red

I don't know about the hello - you said you plugged one ego onto the charger and you smelled something funny and then you plugged the other ego and it smelled too. If the fist ego battery was bad and blew the charger when you plunged it into it and the charger may now be bad and it could have destroyed the second. If you have a mufti-meter and know how to use it it would help you find out. After reading so many post of people have one thing go bad and taking others with it I bought one - but I can't figure out how to use it.

I have a multimeter. I just checked the voltage on the output. The plus is the inner ring and the ground is the threads im guessing. well I got close to zero voltage. like 0.1V. Hmmm. how could a brand new battery come completely broken? I did a test fire with it and it worked when i got it. just checked the light didnt connect an atty. now its a paperweight. ARGGGGGGGG 40 bucks down the drain

I could be wrong, but i didn't think you could charge an ego (900 mah) on an hello (1300 mah) charger...either way sorry about your batteries, hope you find the problem..

The OP is using an Ego charger. I had similar problem with a bad atty that killed two of my Rivas in a row. If your atty or your charger kills one battery, NEVER EVER attach another battery to it. I made the same mistake; I thought my Riva was not charged and I transfered the killer (shorted) atty onto my other Riva.

Looks like they are all dead. Whatever you do, don't put your Hello on a bad charger. Are you using your USB charger connected to your PC? Do you have a spare charger?

Dont have a spare charger. Using it on my desktop computer. Man I didnt know these things were such pieces of crap. I have had such bad luck with Ego's. I cant believe the culprit was a BRAND NEW battery. gahhhhh. Thats scary cause I have it plugged into my computer all the time. Good thing my motherboard (hopefully) senses shorts. I thought those batteries had short circuit protection. Guess not. Im going to consider buying a better mod. Chinese stuff is complete crap. Its a shame all those mods are so expensive. They must be making a killing. Cant be more than 5-15 bucks in parts even for those nice metal mods

Well the thing is, I placed the order from My Ecig Supply. They gave me a ticket to Pay it through alert pay but I thought I cancelled it. I didnt hear from them at all and was just sent this. I didnt pay for it, which has me worried. I guess I assumed that since I didnt pay (it even said my order was cancelled) that they wouldnt send it. Dont know what to do. I cant really complain because I didnt pay for it, but I would definately pay for it if they replace it. Kinda a sticky situation. What do you think I should do>?

First, read this post. Or better yet, read the whole thread (but not tonight).

Then, contact ImYourSalt, just send him a PM. He works for Liberty Flights and they have a store front in San Diego. Or send him an email through the LF website. His name is Ty and he's a good guy. You can get a new charger tomorrow. LF offers 2-month warranty on their products, so you can buy from them with confidence.

As for the other supplier, I never ordered from them, but they clearly sold you a defective battery. Do they offer any kind of warranty at all?
