Okay, I've had a wonderful month of vaping. I have a provari mini, juices from HHV, mom and pops, and a bunch more on the way. I'd settled on a nice mini vivi nova and hhv caramel cappuccino for my all day vape, and would occasionally vape taste test other stuff and was very happy. Tried cartos and they worked for me for the first three weeks, but liked the mvn I got last week more.

So, yesterday the mvn started tasting kinda funky. Okay, I thought, change the head. The 2.4 ohm it came with read at nearly 3 ohm, put the 2.8 on there and.... tasted like crap. Tried the 1.8. crap. Okay, watch a video, read some posts and ... pulled that little inside plastic piece out like some suggested. meh, some improvement but not much. Okay, go back to cartos. Hm... inconsistent, but mostly crap. WTH? Everything is suddenly tasting awful. Dry, muted, or electrical/rubber. Now the mvn is leaking. Tried all my cartos, doesn't matter which flavor, they're all kinda... bad. Maybe they're dried out, left sitting too long. It's not like I've vaped much from them in the last ten days. I've tried adding drops to most, still just ... bad.

Okay, now on the Provari. Everything looks clean, but I go through the steps anyway. I've got isopropyl alcohol on the way, but I've scraped with a paperclip and wiped stuff down with qtips, but it looks fairly clean.

I have some new atomizers, bridgeless and bridged, but I haven't got the hang of dripping or something. They taste like crap as well; but even before I knew what I was doing, they were better than this. I've tried brand new cartos as well.

I think I read you can develop a sensitivity to the PG? I had a slight cold that I vaped right through. The vaping didn't really change until I came to change the head on the mvn. The flavors were fine all through the worst of it, but I ended up throwing up in the middle of the night and I'm feeling okay but not perfect. Is this how the PG sensitivity would present itself?

I've been going kinda crazy today and it's starting to worry me. I haven't had any really good "ah, I love vaping" moments today. It's all suck and then, blah. I've got some new equipment on the way, new mvn and some kanger T3's and a new ego twist so I might be able to fix this -- or I might be still as stuck as I am now.

It sounds like your taste buds are still healing and are experiencing what's referred to as 'Vape Tongue'. It's happened to me a couple of times and I've read from people who have been vaping for years and still encounter this every so often. You can either vape a juice that you're not particularly fond of or get some flavorless liquid for when it happens. Just drink plenty of water and it should clear up. :)

I find chain vaping messes with my taste buds. Those vivi nova heads can be hit or miss. Did you blow the primer out of your dripping attys? If you didnt thatt may be the problem with those. Dripping is my fallback when things dont taste right. Also letting juices steep for a bit before you vape ghem if they are made fresh can help. Sounds like you need a freshly filled carto tank imo. As far as dripping goes its jyst 2-3 drops and have a few vapes. Adding a few more on a fresh one will help as well.

Some liquids will literally eat the tank on the Vivi Nova. What flavor of liquid are you using? I know you have tried different delivery systems but if you by chance emptied the liquid from the nova back into the bottle and then dripped on an atty or filled a cartomizer with that same liquid that could be it if it was a tank eating liquid. We just had a post like yours maybe a week ago and that was the culprit.

You know, things like this are why I still try and "group" my vaping into analog-sized sessions. It's pretty clear to me now that I can get a ridiculous amount of nicotine into my body now. Without the pain of chain-smoking more than a couple analogs at a time and the need to go outside I could easily overdo it. Safe or not, puffing near constant vapor for too long can't be a *good* thing.

Water and breaks.

I'm still a relatively new vaper myself, but I know what you're talking about with every vape suddenly tasting nasty. I can't really say anything on the possibility of you having a PG sensitivity, but I don't have one and I had the same experience several times over the last few months. You really have to up your water intake when you start to vape, because vaping can dehydrate you (which can affect your perception of tastes/flavors) and the PG/VG can leave a coating on your tongue over the course of the day, especially if you chain vape at all.

This one may seem really silly, but is it possible the ingredients in your juices separated and you forgot to shake your bottles before you used them? I only ask because I actually did make that mistake, once, and a juice I had loved suddenly became seriously nasty and that nasty flavor affected my taste buds for the rest of the day.

Since you've already checked your equipment, the only other things I would suggest: drink extra water, alternate flavors, and/or the instant you start to notice nasty flavor (or blah flavor) scrape and/or brush your tongue with a good mouthwash. I haven't had any nasty vape or blah problems once since I started immediately cleaning my tongue with the mouthwash whenever it happened...but I've also started drinking more water so that might be part of it too.

I hope you can get back to regular "Ah, I love vaping" moments quickly, and I can definitely tell you that the blah/nasty flavor thing doesn't ever seem to have lasted more than a day or two for anyone who's posted about it.:)

Gargle with salt water and read up on taste buds. It will all taste fine again in a day or so-sometimes longer. It happens when you burn the roof of your mouth with pizza too. Menthol flavors can also get you through it because you will at least feel the coolness. Otherwise just use up you least favorite juices until it passes.

Fighting with a bit of vaper tongue myself. Been trying to make myself drink more water but I was never a big water drinker so it's been a little hard to figure out how much I really need. Last week I was noticing some dehydration symptoms (headaches mainly and feeling hungover the next morning whether I had some beers or not) and have started drinking more throughout the day but I think I'm still a bit low on my intake.
