So I have recently bought some nickel heads for the Subtank, and I popped em in, and presto chango, they glow at 300*F =T

So before I waste more money, I figured I'd ask the gurus for assistance.

The tank is the classic Subtank.

Nickel Heads pre-made

device is the Xcube 2

Temp coefficient is 0.00600, Initial resistance is 0.254, set for 15W (via app) and 300*F.

Wicks dont look burnt, but the coils ARE glowing so I take it as a sign not to use the heads anymore.

Any other info needed, will gladly provide.

Those Kanger Ni200 heads should ohm out around 0.15. Your problem is that the "classic" 25mm Subtank has a piss-poor 510 connection (the 510 pin "floats") and that tends to throw resistance off a lot when using TC builds, either pre-made or in the RBA.

You could try using the 22mm beauty ring that came with it, see if that helps get your resistance down closer to where it needs to be, as it tends to force a slightly better connection, but don't hold your breath.

See I thought the spring loaded centerpin might be to blame (albeit I dont understand why it would as it helps to maintain a better connection, but whatevs) but heres the weird part

I DID get another coil. It read 0.25 out of the pack. I pulled the atty off and warmed it up a bit (idk, my house stays around 62*F so maybe below room temp) and it got the resistance low enough for me to adjust down to 0.17.

Now it vapes fine, and no issues whatsoever aside from me remembering why I ditched nickel in the first place...

BUT, I wasnt done. Threw in a 0.4 ohm build on my RBA for the very same Classic Subtank (with that piss poor 510) using mad rabbit wire and set it for SS mode. Put it at 420*F and am in vape heaven ^^

Perhaps its as alot of people said; nickel is just too sensitive of a wire. But I'm glad I got one form or another of temp control figured out.
