I have several and I do mean several Volt batteries, 2 78mm autos, 1 78mm manual, 1 650mah auto, 1 900mah manual, and the one giving me fits is the 900mah auto. I received some X2 clearos on Friday (my first ones), and decided to try them out today. My 900mah auto was on the charger, after the light went out, I filled up a clearo, popped it on the battery and noticed a weirdness that I hadn't before. As long as the battery was vertical it was fine, but tilting it in any direction caused it to fire. I took the clearo off, unscrewed the cover on the bottom of the battery and watched the led light up every time I tilted it.

I went to the SI website but their ticket request link is not working at this time, there was an email address to request a ticket and I processed a request for a ticket. I have only been at this for about 4 weeks now, and I love SI products.

I decided not to push it, since I fear flooding the battery. I am becoming very "ocd" about the care and cleaning of all my vaping equipment. Luckily I have backups to my backups, so I am not using this particular one at this time, but has anyone ever had that happen before?

This same thing happened to me with one of my 78s. It happened because juice got in
the auto battery. Now, it stands upright and is fine. Turn it horizontally and it fires. I'm
trying to figure out how to safely discharge it completely so I can send it to that ecig
ash tray in the sky.

The reason it happened is cuz, like a dummy, I used it to drip. The joose found it's way
into the goods, and that was the end of it. Do you think I'll do that again?

Thanks for the replies, I just found it weird that if any of the batteries would have had liquid damage, it would have been one of my 78's since I did have a problem with the Nano leaking fluid all over it, but that one still works perfectly. I haven't had any such issues with the 900 X2 because I wouldn't risk it.

Okay...I am beginning to believe these things have a mind of their own! Prior to reading the replies, I hadn't touched that particular battery. After I picked it up, and tilted it and it still fired...then I sat it down upside down in front of me while posting my comment. I picked it up again, and it isn't doing that anymore! I can turn it any and every such way...and no firing. I put a carto on it and it seems to be working perfectly again. Truthfully - tell me I'm not going crazy! Wait - don't answer that!

If it did get juice in it, maybe the juice moved so that it doesn't short out the battery.

Or maybe ... you are crazy!

Or both :)

Too Funny... Most likely there is juice in it, try storing it upside down on a tissue for a day or so and then without turning it over put a near empty carto on it and take a few healthy hits with it still upside down and maybe the juice will come back out the way it got in. One thing I've found to prevent any of the clearos, nanos, and Ce3s from leaking is to just lightly snug them when attaching them to the battery. There's no need to Moose Jaw the things on the battery and over tightening them will cause leaks...:2c:

Thanks 1st - Being fairly new to this whole thing and trying to learn all the "ifs" and "buts" and "do this" and "don't do that" has my head spinning. I did leave the battery sitting upside down for the night and plan to keep doing that if that keeps it working for me.

As for the snugging them, I have all SI products and some of my CE3's won't even thread on some of my X2's at all, and the Nano that I purchased was very particular about which battery it would actually attach to. Some of the cartos, some prefilled and some blank, fit some batteries with resistance and some batteries they go on so easy it doesn't seem as if they could be making contact. I am constantly fiddling and figetting around things to get a good fit for the two pieces.

And this 900 battery, if in fact it does have juice in it, it had to be a "stealth" drop, as I stated before it has never been flooded, etc. It only started after I put on the brand new X2 Clearo, and when it fired on it's on I took it off right away and didn't see any liquid on the battery at all, but wiped it just the same. I have two 65mm which were given to me and purchased from SI a year ago, these are unsealed batteries. When given to me I had to use a plastic toothpick and clean the "junk" out from around the battery connection - and those two are still functional batteries after all that abuse. Go figure

X2 1300s and clearos are the only way to fly. I have 7 X2s and 15 clearos and I haven't had a problem with anything but the charging cords which CS promptly replaced. I have nanos, don't like them, too small. Ce3s, same problem, Cartos taste like metal. Hopefully the T-3s will be wonderful if not I hope they keep the clearos around. You do have to fiddle around with things from time to time but it beats burning your clothes or your car seats or lighting the filter so all in all I think we are way ahead. not to mention you will live longer... Wait until you get into DIY. Most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Sounds like you are the man to ask another "burning" question! I just purchased three X2 Clearos, and now since the "thang" with the silver 900mah, I am even more OCD about my stuff. Seems like there is always a drop of juice on top of the X2 batteries with these clearos, my daughter is using one on her X2 650mah, and is seeing the same thing. What gives with that???

I only purchased one Nano, it leaked, then it didn't, then it leaked, then it didn't, etc., etc. Today I cleaned it out, filled it with juice - it leaked. Poured juice back in bottle, filled it with water - still sitting there with water in it "not" leaking since about noon today.

I have been reading the threads on DIY and it does sound like something I will eventually do, but for now I am just enjoying this "analog" free life!

Most of what you see on the battery post is moisture from the heat generated by the steam from the coil. Make sure to never blow into the clearo, not even a little. If you are using a manual X2 the release the button a second or two before you stop drawing. If you overfill them they will leak too, make sure to keep the juice level below the top line. Also get some standard pipe cleaners and when you have a condensation problem wipe the battery post with a tissue and gently run the pipe cleaner up the bottom of the air hole in the clearo. It's important you do this very gently and stop as soon as you feel it contact the wick and coil assembly or otherwise you could break the coil wire. This will get all of the moisture out of the air tube. I do this when ever I change from one clearo to another, I go through a ritual of flavors starting with coffees in the morning and ending with the fru fru flavors like cherry cola or almond amaretto after dinner. You can also use the pipe cleaner from the top when you overfill them and they flood, at first it's hard to get it to line up with the little hole in the steel tube at the bottom of the drip tip but a standard pipe cleaner will fit. If you don't get all the juice out of the air tube when they flood it will either end up in your mouth or on top of your battery post. Another tip for not having problems is to fill them with a syringe, I know you can do it with the bottle but if you get in a hurry with the thicker juices you will end up with a little puddle on top of the little plastic cap that covers the coil assembly and when you screw the drip tip back on it will force the puddle up into the air tube. Like I said you have to fiddle around a little but the X2s and Clearos out preform just about anything out there regardless of the price, I have quite a collection of the competitions products but they all live in a box on the shelf in my shop. If you need any help feel free to PM me and I will try to give you a better explanation.
