Anyone used it or tied it?

It's expensive as heck...
The re-usability of the wick looks to good to be true.

I am very interested in this now.:vapor:

so am I...and according to some reviews on youtube it's supposed to be pretty awesome

...also, I ordered it ... I mean, I can listen to reviews all day long and still not know, or I can experience it for myself and then write a review for someone else, eh?

so, it does clean, just like the advertised video on the RBA Supplies website?

...and how many times will it do that....like does it go bad once it start fraying, or will it develope bad taste eventually?
how long have you been using XC116? and how long have you been using the same re-cleaned strand?

I know lots of questions .... thank you

Can't answer the questions fully, since I only received a 3 inch sample from a contest, and I screwed up my first coil build and had to rebuild.

Yes, it cleans up with a torch just like the videos. Just make certain to use the hottest part; cooler flames will turn it black until the hottest part turns it white (I don't have a torch, and have been using a lighter). The old flavor burns away completely. I'm on the 2nd or 3rd week on this coil build now.

There is some minute ceramic dust, but boiling apparently removes/reduces that. I didn't boil, but have rinsed until hot water a few times and that helped reduce the dust, which is easily blown away as well.

The flavor is exceptional and much improved over standard silica. If I had the cash, which I currently do not, I would buy more since I don't like any of the cotton flavor I've tried. My budget is extremely tight. I am using a mini-RDA, so I don't need much and I think I have enough left from the 3 inches for 2 more builds. It is easy to work with because it is stiff and doesn't fray unlike silica or Ekowool.

If I had the extra cash, I would definitely invest in more.

I have been using X-116 for months now. It cleans up 100% with a small torch and stays intact for many many cleanings. It wicks very good and flavor is spot on not as good as cotton but will take any heat you can throw at it.

I Knew eventually someone would chime in..... THNX

I've used it for years.

Of course I was using it for it's intended purpose which is to protect thermocouples in industrial ovens and autoclaves.

Never used it for a wick though.

Here's the manufacturer's website with full details, including material safety data sheet.
