XL Auto battery staying on?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has had problems with their auto batteries sticking in general...or specifcally the XL Auto. My father was using it and when he put it in his pocket he was hearing sizzling and realized that the auto battery was stuck on in his pocket. He said it happened 2-3 times last night.

If it's doing it that often it and still does it with different carts, then it sounds like a dodgy switch in the battery, only happens to me a couple times a week at most and that's usually if it's a dodgy cartridge or something.

It's not limited to autos, as I have same problem every so often with all 3 of my manuals (don't have any VK autos). After it cuts off and I release the switch, cycle repeats on its own. I always try to quickly unscrew the carto (LED stays on until cut-off time is reached). I've also experienced it with other types (Green Smoke and Bloog) autos,so it seems like a pretty common design flaw regardless of manufacturer/supplier.

I get it often with new carts, as the juice drips, and keeps it going a few seconds....if it stay's on any longer, we need to replace. A few seconds is fine

Yeah, I took it from him so I could use it for a while and see what happens exactly...will let you know, hopefully won't have to replace because I love it.

The few seconds thing is kinda cool - I like it. If it sets his pocket on fire - it's a bad thing (just teasing!)

I go back to the post-mortem I did on mine, and my personal recommendation that they be stowed cartridge-side-down so that condensing juice can't run down into the battery and make the switch gooey.

I'm playing with a mod that addresses the (albeit rare) issue, but I won't have time to really stress test it for two more weeks... I have been able to reproduce it, but it requires either improper refilling, excessive humidity, moderately excessive heating and cooling cycles, or some combination - always combined with an angle favoring the battery side rather than an angle that would cause seepage to drain away from the battery to be wicked back up by the cartomizer.

I have had this issue quite a few times, but I have yet to see it cause any real damage so I shrugged it off. I quickly unscrew the cart and let it "die out." The only time it's worried me is when it continued all the way until it actually hit the 10sec cutoff point, which I thought was really odd considering it was having its own little vape party at that point.

Theory: Ghosts are tired of smelling bad too and want in on the action.
