Glad to know it's not the vaping, I look forward to getting better soon and finally being able to play with my new kit. The doctor just ordered a stronger antibiotic that's suppose to really help with sinus infections. I was taking Augmentin XR and now he prescribed Avelox, I hope it works, I just want to feel better. My wife is going to get me the oil of oregano, I'm desperate to try it all.

Outflying -You won't regret it. Just tell your wife to touch her nose with the tip of her tongue, immediately after putting the drops under the tongue. The trick is to not let any of it on TOP of the tongue where the taste buds are. Cuz it TASTES HORRIBLE. But I have used it successfully for several years, and have been able to avoid having to go to the Dr. and spend $ to get pharmaceuticals that probably won;t work anyways.

I wouldn't lump antibiotics in that category of "pharmaceuticals that probably won't work". I agree that many pharmies get rushed to market for less-than-ethical reasons (Chantix anyone? or Phen-fen?), but antibiotics? They are probably the most relied-upon, tested, and NECESSARY drugs in the pharmaceutical spectrum.

Outflying, don't drop the antibiotic! Add the OTC remedies, but don't quit an antibiotic mid-cycle! That's what helps breed stronger (more drug-resistant) bacteria.

ETA: I don't mean to sound rude, if I did, I apologize. But sometimes you NEED a prescription, and this sounds like one of those times.

I agree - don't stop taking the antibiotic mid-cycle. OofO can be used safely in conjunction with the antibio; I'm merely recommending it for future use. My comment about pharmies is based on my experience with dr.'s who wright a prescription based on how you look/sound, and hope it's the correct one. and when it isn't and you have to go back, they do lab work to better diagnose and prescribe.

No, not rude at all Stephra...I appreciate the advice..I'm not going to quit antibiotics mid cycle. They did switch me to a stronger one and asked if it was ok to start that right away and not finish the other one...and the doc said it was fine. I hope she didn't think I was going to continue taking both ;) even though right now if it would help, I would do anything. I tried the neti pot and that seemed to help for a little while, and then the clogged up nose came back. I finally broke down and sprayed some Afrin (not to use for more than 3 days)...I know trust me I don't ever use that stuff, but I needed to be able to sleep...which now I'm wired....lol
Hopefully I took it early enough I will wind down and finally get some sleep tonight. I haven't had a sinus infection this bad in a really long time, I get them once a year but never this bad.

They did a cat scan of my sinus/ear area and I got a call today from the nurse saying the ENT wants to talk to me about the results on Fri. I asked her if everything is ok, and she said yes, no cancer or lumps etc...he just needs to go over the results in person  Last time I had this done a few years back, they just called me up and said the sinus cavity looks good and should be no problems...I'm freaked out that something more serious is going on 8-o and they are not telling me....
    Ok, positive thinking..positive thinking :):):):):)

Wow Outflying, sorry you're feeling so wretched! I hope that you'll be feeling better before friday so the scan results become irrelevent, but until then...

    Feel better!

Thanks for the thought :) but unfortunately it doesn't seem like the antibiotics are even touching this, this has been going on since Sun evening.
I'm up once again at 2 am not being able to breathe thus not being able to sleep... If I've gotten 8hrs of sleep total since Sun it would be amazing, I'm really starting to lose it, the lack of sleep and not breathing is really getting to me...I need to feel better soon

hey, sorry it took me so long.. just saw this. It's totally ok to request manuals. We understand trying things out. Feel better soon!

Val nothing to be sorry about...I would of sent u an email asking if it was ok..since I've been sick, it wasn't a pressing issue. I put a toothpick in one of the holes and once I feel better I will try it out before I make a decision. My God I haven't had a sinus infection this bad in a couple years, my head was pounding and felt like it weighed a TON :( but thank God the CAT scan came back good. The avelox seems to really be working, because I can finally breathe. He recommended down the line maybe getting sinus surgery to open my sinuses up a little bit more and fixing my slight deviated septum...don't remember ever getting hit in the nose ;) Thanks for replying Val. I know this much my next order of cartos will be RY4, man that stuff is good. I just want to get better so I can Vape, of course my wife blames the vaping on me getting sick  I even told the ENT doctor and he said it wasn't the vaping and it was better than smoking...:) Talk to you soon.
Thanks for asking Stephra..doing much better.
