Hello Everyone,

I ordered this yesterday. I bought it with very little research. Read a few posts that it was good and pulled the trigger. I wanted to get the Nitecore D4 or I4. Coz the Nitecore name is just... cooler! :)

Will I be disappointed???

I have a few Sony VTC6 3.7V 3000mAh 30A batreries, and a few Samsung 2500mAh 20A batteries to charge.

My old Xtars are great, so is my 4 year old Nitecore D2 Im still using right now. I did have a bad experience last year though. I bought one of the new Xtar SV2 Rocket's and it lasted like 10 days before the spring inside bay 2 broke. Got a replacement from Illumn, lasted the exact same time. 10 days later, same spring, same bay broke. The rep that had been working with me thought they had just gotten a bad bunch of them as they normally didn't have this issue (Ive seen other people with the same issue on other Xtars though in the battery forum). The third replacement broke literally the day after I got it. Same spring, same bay. I didn't bother returning that one, I think I only paid like $12 for it on sale anyways so oh well, Ive got a spare one bay 2A charger if I need it.

IV got both. There are a couple of differences, but they both work really well. I like on the NC d4 that it will tell you how long it took to charge, which is a good way of keeping track of the health of the battery. The VC does'nt tell you that, but it will tell you how many mah the battery took during charging. The VC does have a higher charge rate, but I think this difference is minimal. What's really nice about the VC is that it can be used from a number of sources depending on what adapter you chose. It can charge from the car or from the wall just by changing the pwr adapter. Right now I use the VC the most bcause of its mobility, but really either of these two are going to do a great job.

Yeah I use a nitecore intellecharger 2 bay and I like it, however if and when I have to replace it, I would likely go with an Xtar next time. Slower speed of charging is better for batteries, however there are times when it could be helpful to charge a bit faster, but for the most part I seem to be doing just fine with the intellicharger, so I just don't worry about it.

But, you have purchased a reputable, well regarded charger, so nothing to worry about really.

I wish I had bought a 4 port charger back when the wife and I first started. Instead I bought two 2 port chargers. Sometimes you only have plug though.
Look at the bright side. If one of them fails, you still have a working one. But if you only had a single 4-port charger and it failed.....

Then you would buy a new one
And charge batteries how, while you're waiting for the replacement to arrive?

Since vaping is the only thing that can keep me from smoking, I'm a firm believer in having redundant / backup gear readily available at all times.

The Xtar VC series is 1/3 faster... 375ma vs 500ma charging of 4 cells. It's faster, but not so much as to adversely affect the cells.

I received my VC4 charger today and put the batteries in. Can someone please explain me this pic?

Shouldn't it go up to 2500mAh rather than showing full at these readings?
