My xtar VC4 cuts off @4.17ish which is fine by me, but below spec, regardless. It has brought back suspect Liion batts. I like that it will charge my eneloop NiMH, also.
Too low better than too high, for sure.

Tons of Eneloop here too...Definitely gotta have NiMH support if I'm buying a charger.

A major feature that I have to have in a charger, is the ability to manually select the amp charging rate. I prefer to charge my 18650s at 0.5amps. I'm very uncomfortable with the newer chargers with a minimum of 1.0 amps for that battery....altho you can certainly charge one at that rate, I just prefer a slower charge, less heat. I am seeing new chargers with 2 amp rates on larger batteries....like the trend in cell phones, faster isn't always better.

Am I misreading the specs? I don't see a 207000/21700 on the compatibility list.

According to 18650batterystore the nitecore can't use 2x700s, but the xtar can.

Huh. I have a D4 and charge my 21700s in them all the time. But the Xtar can as well? Good to know. I wonder why they left it off their list.
I'm not sure, maybe they just didn't test fit those at the time.

I know 18650batterystore will say 2x700s won't fit if they are a tight fit, or if some units of a model won't fit them while other units of the same model do. That's caused by factory tolerances being a little sloppy. I have had chargers that others said fit 2x700 batteries where my particular unit didn't fit them.
