My first 3 building attempts:

vaping on the 2.1 coil now - it tastes awesome! Used 32 gauge kanthal and Sugar & Cream cotton yarn. Need to work on getting the individual coils larger - will probably go get a machine screw tomorrow.

Awesome... How many wraps of 32g are you using? I'm starting to wrap my own now too. I was sick of cheap quality coils from my store.

I had to use 6 wraps to get 2.1, but I know I'm probably wrapping a little too tight. The other two coils were 5 wraps.

Nice job! Have you tried a micro coil and cotton in an Evod?

No, went from stock silica to this. Not even 100% sure what all goes into making a micro coil.

A trick I use to keep from wrapping a coil too tight.

Get a large paper clip and unbend it
Hold the wire of the clip with the yarn and wrap around both

If you leave the clip in to position the coil in the base and while you lock down the legs you will not pull the coil down into base too far and have something solid to hold onto. Once it is all locked down just slide the clip out.

I actually threaded a quilting needle thru the yarn before wrapping it, but it seems like I should have gotten a higher resistance with 6 wraps...

What works well for me is to use 32 AWG wrapped 5 wraps (1.7 ohms) on a 2mm screw. I then roll the end of peaches and cream yarn small enough to fit easily through the coil and postion the coil on the yarn. I use a 2nd piece of the yarn for the flavor wick. The same procedure minus the flavor wick works well on Vivi Novas.
