I needed a few min. out-side house away from screaming kids and barking dogs, so when hubby got home i went to a local restaurant. The first thing i did was ask the i could use my PV. Befor i could even explain with it was she got this funny look on her face and pulled her PV out of her pocket and said only if i can join you!!!!! lol I live in a Verry smal town and would reather educate shop owners and win them over with kindness reather than piss them off.

Most restaurat owners dont like being forced to make there places non-smoking, so if you show them that (right now) vaping is not under smoking ban they will jump on it.

Nice, I go to Freeport occasionally. Next trip down there, I'll stop in for dinner.
I think we should start a directory for "vape friendly" businesses. They wouldn't mind free publicity, and we can have friendly places to stop by.

has anyone had any luck in the houston area with places ok with vaping? it so please let me know!!!

I'm a moderator in the Travel Forum. I plan on starting a sticky thread for vape friendly places. Everyone can post their favorite vape friendly hangouts there. I asked the other moderators for their thoughts. I don't see a problem. The thread should be in the Travel Forum within a day or two, unless there's a good reason not to start it. When we start it, be sure to post your favorite names and locations.

I posted this in another thread however it seems relevant.

As a business owner, I can understand, even if the manager/owner knows what a PV is, their hesitance to allow vaping in their facility. It's nothing against the person vaping, it's the potential of lost business from other patrons. On a slow day, I would possibly consider allowing it, however when I'm busy, and someone starts puffing away, it's just too hard to explain to everyone that complains about it that it's not smoking.

Once vaping gets a little more mainstream I may change my tune, but until then I have to send the PV's outside. This is also why I wouldn't even ask a manager of a non-smoking facility. I just don't want to have to put them in the position that I've been put in a couple of times now...

I'm glad the manager was cool about it though, and it shows that PV's are becoming more popular and known... Kudos.

If anyone's in Portland, my boss thinks my pv is the coolest thing ever -- he's always telling customers about how I'm quitting smoking using my "star trek cigarette" and making me demonstrate it. :p I sit at the counter on my lunch break and vape away.

The surprising thing is how many people already seem to either have heard of the device, or have friends who use one.

The restaurant where I work is called the Lair Hill Cafe...stop by and we'll have a smokin good time!
