Ok after a certain kick ayass guy got me stuck on the Odin I've found I don't use my Woodvils anymore because of the raised juice well. Having contemplated my predicament I simply don't have the cojones to take a hacksaw to my treasured Woodvils so what can I do? Well I can always try and make a Woodie squonker with a flush mounted 510 to accommodate the Odin and perhaps try and convince Rob to come up with flush mounted 510 Woodvils in the process.
Trouble is I've never made any kind of mod and this first attempt will probably be quite a learning curve

So here we go

PS. Please understand that the following is not intended as a future source of income, my woodworking skills (or lack of) are strictly for personal use.

Started with a block of stabilized Myrtle Burl and cut it down to the dimensions I needed on the table saw. Then I cut off with the band saw a part from the block for the sliding door (oversized). Next was cutting the half dovetail rails for the sliding door on the body. I did this by taking the block I had cut and setting up my my router table to router out the center of the block with the dovetail bit. (yeah sadly I didn't take step by step photos)

Here it is with the fat daddy (only the center part) 510 flush fit.

Woodie squonker

I milled out the wood for the internals using my drill press fitted with a compound cross side willing table for the workpiece. Boy I wish I had a CNC milling machine at this stage.

Here it is with the button fitted

Woodie squonker

I then set my table saw blade at the same angle as my dove tail rails and cut the sliding door

Next is the finish before I get to work on the wiring tomorrow

I shot it with about 10-11 coats of clear lacquer and tomorrow I'll wet sand with 1200 grit and 2000 grit then polish to a glass finish

Woodie squonker

Hopefully tomorrow I'll finish the wiring and have a working Woodie squonker for the Odin

I've been contemplating this. I'm thinking of making a power tool free wood bottom feeder. It would take a pile of time and effort, but would be a one of a kind piece when I'm all said and done. Really digging yours!
Then again, I haven't finished my shelves I started this time last year... Shelves are overrated anyway. Mod first, shelf later, to display my Reos

I'll tell you that would be a feat and I highly recommend you don't attempt that with Stabilized wood because it will be a nightmare to chisel the interior space as it's really hard
