I bought from them in the past as well. I tried the nicotine when it first arrived. Nothing wrong. However, it did oxidize quickly after opening/first use. (Turned yellow when oxygen hit it/and or old nicotine.) I did try again and no bad taste/etc. If you already tried it and it was good...(no ill effects.)I would assume it is still safe. I did a impulse buy with them on the nic.

It's okay, even a small amount of air in the bottle will make it turn yellow. I only like it clear because when I work with some flavors, I know they are just about perfect after they start getting that yellow tint.

You'll use it up before there's a concern about the temperature storage (unless you got a boat load of it lol).

That's oxidation, it's okay (as long as it didn't get contaminated somehow).

I buy from Box Elder and I don't remove the safety seal, I puncture it with a syringe. It will stay clear a lot longer that way. I also keep mine in a dark cool area.

is it hard to get syringe through that cap? I already moved mine to a glass bottle and cut it of I would try it

I use a 14 gauge blunt luer-lock syringe and it's easy to puncture. Box Elder ships their nicotine in a cobalt blue bottle with a child safety cap and one of those glued on seals like you find on food, it's kind of styrofoamy.

I don't pre-mix a base, I just draw out of the main bottle with a syringe and I can tip it without spilling because of the tiny hole in the seal.

I thought I'd put this picture up, and also to say that if you have a CVS by you, that tin of chocolate filled wafers is only $1 and its perfect for storing a 250 ml bottle of nic.

I'm sure it's fine. If you buy nic base from some of the places that rebottle it, it's already been exposed to air a few times and it's going to get yellow (or pink) sooner. Did they give you a lot number and expiration date? From Box Elder, it's about 1 year from when it's shipped. I think the worry after that is that it looses nicotine strength.

the boxx elder 48 mg 500 ml i bought on 50% off sale was yellow on arrival. had a feeling they were cleaning out the close to expiration date stuff but the expiration date is about 11 months after the purchase date. it tastes a little off to me--kind of oily. I cut it to 24 mg and it still seemed stronger than the 24mg i had been buying...still a new DIY er so not sure really what to expect. picked up a gallon of VG for free and bottle of PG and basically have a liter! of 24mg juice in the house. kind of craving some of my old favorite flavors and don't have the knack quite yet on mixing something "fine!" but with some menthol and 20 80 i have over one year (2.5 ml * 365) supply of baseline vape for $50-60 bucks. But the yellow tint and oily smell does worry me.

Just how solid is the Box elder rep (well i guess i should start another thread for that) well let me ask how many folks are getting yellow oily nic base from box elder? i think i ordered it in late march.

I haven't seen anything oily myself, but I do have some purchased juices that are a much oilier vape. I thought it was the flavoring, but who knows??

Unfortunately we're at the mercy of what is available to us. I think Box Elder is making their orders as they receive them from pure nic, and that's why the expiration dates are about a year after the order date. Maybe their base to make our base ages and changes? I like having a lot number, but I realize it's false security too.

There are some juice vendors here who buy from Box Elder. Others won't say. I can also attest that my DIY seems much stronger than what I've purchased - an 18 mg from somewhere else feels to me like the 12 mg I make.

It all makes my head spin. I've read where some people will say they don't like Humco glycerin. Well, a pharmacist member here said that Humco manufactures all the USP glycerin the the United States and packages it under different brand names. Then others will say they like food grade NOW Foods VG because it tastes better - then I read that they possibly add corn based sweetener to their VG, and they can do that without disclosing it because they aren't held to the same standards.

OaklandCA, I google-mapped the address for Box Elder and it's a single family home. They also own GourmetVapor.com and Bacher Enterprises (computer hardware) and HoneyvilleVapor.com: Best Rate Payday Loans, Inc. 1170 Sycamore Dr. Domains

The address for GourmetVapor goes to a little strip mall with an EZLoan$

sigh, such is the life of an early adopter lol

How yellow is the yellow that you guys are talking about? I got some 100mg VG base from China and it's this colour, and smells pretty strongly. Previous juices haven't had much of a smell and have been clear for the most part. Is this acceptable - would I be in the wrong for wanting a refund?

cant say for sure but i'd want a refund, mine has a barely yellow tint to it and started to get slightly darker but nowhere even near what yours is right now and mine has no smell to it really
