I'm pretty new to this whole e-cig thing. I started because I, like many of you I suppose, was looking for an alternative to cigarettes.

It began with a trip to the local drug store for Blu and NJoy disposables. Meh. Neither were the solution I was looking for. I couldn't get into the Blu flavor and the NJoys are just too damned expensive IMO.

A friend of mine was nice enough to spend over an hour on the phone with me, trying to explain the myriad of options out there for e-cigs. Off to the local smoke shop I went, having forgotten just about everything he told me. I walked out with a 650mah eGo-style kit and some juice. Cool. Then another trip to a different smoke shop a few days later resulted in a 1100mah batter, a couple Protanks and some more juice. Now I've got a K100-101 coming in with a bunch of different tanks/atomizers/etc and even more e-juice.

My last "real" cigarette was Monday morning. It's now Friday morning and I'm sleeping better, coughing much less and generally feel better than I have in a while. There's no way in hell I'd be able to do that without the e-cigs after ~14 years of smoking cigs. At least without being an absolute miserable human being to be around.

I've already noticed some new smells. Like the air freshener in my bathroom. The only way I could smell it before was if I shoved my nose within a couple inches of it. Now, BAM! Raspberries the second I walk in the door. I'm really looking forward to my sense of taste recuperating. There are so many things I've learned to cook in the last 10+ years that I've never tasted as a non-smoker.

Hi Deviate and I'm joining the welcoming party and congratulate you on becoming an ECF member. Yep...you will smell things you haven't smelled for years....some good, some...well....you get my drift. I now smell smoke from what seems like a block away and it doesn't smell good.

Sounds like you are on the path and I hope your vaping journey exceeds your expectations. This is a great community to be a part of and as you are discovering, filled with supportive and friendly folks. We are all in this vaping thing together. And that feels good.

Keep the vape and namaste.

Thanks for the kind words all.

I just passed my 1 month analog-free mark yesterday. Sadly I haven't saved any money because I've bought too much damn gear. According to Vape Mate I'm $230.48 in the hole. But I'm enjoying it, my temptations to go back to Camels have been very minimal, and I've got enough juice to last me 2-3 months so there's that...

I did find a decent vape shop locally. If anyone else is in the Beaverton, OR area it's Henry's over off of 1st and Hall. Good selection of hardware and juice, nice folks, knowledgeable, and competitive prices. I don't work for them or anything; I'd just like to see them stay open so I can buy stuff locally from a place that actually specializes in vaping.

My sense of smell is back to almost normal. I think. It's been so damn long, I'm not sure if I remember what "normal" smelled like... I do know that I'm a bit repulsed now when my neighbor is outside smoking cigarettes so that has to count for something. And some guy who smoked came by my apartment a week or two ago to buy a guitar from me. After he left I had to go berserk on the place with air freshener. I feel bad now about all the places I probably did that to in my ~15 years of smoking.
