Hi everyone, I just got into vaping and purchased the yeti 510 from altsmoke.com and just got it a few days ago. Everything seems to be working fine, but my only concern is that when I plug the batteries into the charger, the light on the charger (Not on the battery) constantly flashes green and red during the whole charge. It seems that the batteries are holding a charge except I'm pretty sure that one of my batteries lasts a lot longer than the other.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I contact altsmoke?

Did you check with a stiff point of tissue for juice in the charger? Are the battery threads clean?

Some charging cables do flash between two colors when charging, eventually becoming mostly the charged color, then all the charged color

Re battery life - Yeti is a slim 510. Have you been using LR anything on it (cartos or atomizers below 2.5 ohm) or using a fast charger like Ego/Riva (420ma output instead of about 200ma)? Either of those can damage slim batteries. And if you have auto batteries and get juice on the end of the battery, if any juice gets in the hole and only makes the drag switch sticky (instead of killing the battery) that can cause the switch to turn off slower, wasting battery charge.

Other than that, no idea.

It wouldn't hurt to contact the vendor. You might have a bad charger AND a bad battery. If that's the case, they will probably send you new ones if their customer service is any good. Good luck.

Oh, one other thing. Are you cleaning the battery connections before you put them on the charger? You want to be sure there is no juice in the battery connector or on the charger connection.

Do both batteries do this? Is it a constant flash of equal red and green or is it only periodic, brief flashes of green? Ordinarily the charger light -- at least when my eGo and 510s charge -- will remain red and periodically flash green very briefly as it tests the voltage to see if it's charged before going back to red.

On the screw-in part of the charger how many mA or amp does it say? Not the volts.

4.2v voltage is fine. But the mA should be around 150 to 220 mA, and not over 400 (the over 400mA ones are Ego fast chargers). It should be right after the voltage and may be stated as amps like .2A or milliamps as 200mA

Some vendor sold me a supposed 510 charging cable and I didn't notice it was actually an Ego fast charging cable until it damaged two of my 510 batteries so they only held a fraction of their former charge and did not flash properly when power was low (damaged protection circuits). Cable was fine but as an Ego charger, not as a slim 510 charger.

Mindfield - It is a constant flash of red and green, I think the red is more prominent, it's just a very very short flash of green constantly. Kind of like a strobe light.

Dormouse - On the charger I see Input: AC100-250V50/60hz, Output: DC5.0v, DC500mA

Could just be the charger testing the battery's charge state so it knows when it's done. (It has to try and draw power to determine its voltage level, hence it isn't charging when it's drawing, hence the green light.) Does it do this with both batteries? Seems a little frequent to be testing charge, but I guess every manufacturer's chargers can be different.
