I will be building an SX350 - in a good ole' hammond!

I just wanted to start a thread here to, more or less, keep a parts list and walkthrough for my future projects to reflect on - this will be trial and error for me. I have some general ideas for what I want and how she'll be laid out.

Stay tuned...

Ebay:

6" Nylon zip ties ($3.00) - http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-PCS-Pac...945?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43c27ee149

Project roughly costs $110 and a little elbo grease.

Odds & Ends:

- Soldering iron
- Solder
- Flux
- Multimeter
- 22 & 24 gauge wire (a bare minimum color selection of black and red)
- IMR 18650 batteries (I will be using Sony VTC5's or LG 18650 30A)

I have some things ordered already, waiting on some return funds to purchase the tail end parts I do not have yet - project will be underway shortly.

I would love any pointers you guys could throw at me, and sorry about the goofy links... I couldnt figure out how to make the item subject click able.

I will update my process as I move along - pictures and what not.

Cheers!

List looks good but you should go with 20 gauge for the wiring the 22 and 24 is on the thin side and make sure you use some Silicone Rubber High strand count wire.
Thank you for the update jim! I will be sure to use 20 & 22 - I appreciate the input.

As for the switch, im hoping its a momentary 2A just for the initial switching, as I know LEDs definitely dont take that much to run. Should I consider using a different switch?

Any input on some other recommend "pretty" switches?

Isn't the keystone 1048 better for the contacts? Been looking and wandering the difference and which is better, so figured I would ask? Anyone try both?

also, getting ready to do the same build. I have the chip, just deciding on a Hammond 1590 G or B, or building an acrylic see through one? Will be following this thread closely!

very interested in how you attach and secure the chip and charger boards...most threads skip that step, so please try and take pictures of the glue/epoxy/other securement part.

Thanks

Im not sure on the 1048 Fegbri - I am picking up the 1049 due to stocking through Mouser. I am purchasing components through them and I do not believe they have the 1049 - I will double check though!

And yep, no problem.. I will be thorough with my pictures and step by step. Looking forward to it myself.

@VapDrak - that link to baps 1590g isnt a housing per say, its a manufactured lid that replaces the normal 1590g hammond enclosure. It doesnt change the dimensions of the 1590g box. I do believe he makes one that has a risen hight to the deck to accommodate larger buttons, but a 1590g will fit a dual 1860 - as gandsr said though.. it will be a tight fit depending on layout.

The reason I am leaning on a 1590D is because this will be my first box that I will have ever made. I just figured the working space in a D would be a simpler space to start the educational process.

Im thinking my next box will be a 1590g - but I might slap a DNA 30 in it instead.

Nothin wrong with chillin at home with a humongous 50W beast lmao
