Hello and welcome back for another review. This time I am excited to present a review on the SXmini SL Class V2 mod that was sent to me by sourcemore in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. I’ve been wanting to test this one for a while and was happy that sourcemore agreed to provide it. The V2 is able to use a single 18650/20700/ or 21700 battery. The chipset for this one is the SX730J which provides a waterproof design while offering Watts/ Voltage/ and Temperature Control modes. The display is a .96” color display and there is a 100W maximum output.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:
The packaging for the V2 is simple but nice. The front of the outer sleeve has a nice color picture of an SL V2 but not necessarily of the actual color contained inside. There is a fairly large nicotine warning on the front even though we all know that there is no nicotine in the mod. Thanks to the government for these ridiculous warnings required on hardware packages. The back of the outer sleeve has a contents list and a second warning.
Once the sleeve is removed then the box opens from one side to expose a small envelope which contains the user manual and warranty card. Underneath that is the mod in a nice foam insert and the included USB cable in a box below the mod. I received the gunmetal tang version for this review. I simply love the looks of it.
I recently reviewed the SXmini MQ Class mod and was impressed by the quality of the mod. I was also impressed by the appearance and build quality of the SL V2. I am a big fan of single 21700 mods and this is a really nice one. I tend to be a wattage only vaper so can’t attest to how the temperature control works on this one but Yihi SXmini is known to have well performing temperature control chips.
The SL V2 has a really nice weight to it without being too heavy. It just feels like a really solid well-built mod. The outer frame is a polished finish while the inner frame where the screws are has what almost appears to be a hammered finish. It really adds to the aesthetic of the mod. The wrapped part has what almost looks like a floral pattern. There is a metal plate on the back with the SXmini name on it. I really don’t notice the plate while holding it for use. It really has a nice hand feel.
The 510 connection plate on top is held in place by two torx head screws and allows up to a 27mm atomizer base without overhang. That allows nearly all of the tanks that I have to fit without overhang. While testing, I have been using an iTank which I think looks pretty decent on the mod. The 510 pin is plated and spring loaded.
As I mentioned earlier, the SL V2 can use 18650, 20700, or 21700 batteries. An 18650 adapter tube is included and comes inside the mod. The inside of the knurled bottom cap has a – sign on it to indicate battery polarity. The opening in the mod does not have a polarity marking. The center of the inside of the battery cap is raised to allow space in case the battery needs to vent through the six vent holes in the cap.
