Are you in the navy? Yokosuka is about an hour away from Tokyo, which is not that far, as commutes go. Most Japanese people commute an hour to work.
yokosuka is a fun place, but i def. dont envy the traffic you will be driving in. i used drive for the DODEA schools here, and we would drive the 51pax busses from misawa to all of the kanto plains schools. RT16 can burn in a lake of boiling feces...haha
that trip from tokorozawa to camp zama could take up to 6 hours with that garbages assed traffic...

Well then luckily I dont think I'll be driving for a bit...gotta get a new car and totally relearn how to drive. o0 Should be interesting

driving on this side is actually prety easy. it will take you a day or two, but driving on the base will get you acclimated to driving downtown. its probably actually more dangerous driving on base around americans than it is to drive downtown. japanese for the most part are pretty courteous drivers... highways are a different story. when you pay that much for a toll, its a free for all. from yokosuka to misawa, the toll is about $150, so people drive like peckerheads..haha
