Got my first order of mod and liquid about 2 weeks ago. I ordered 6 different juices and didn't like any of them. I got them really cheap so I thought well I got what I paid for. Ordered from another vendor same day, more than twice the price, and been happily vaping since receiving that a couple days later (I'm amazed how fast these places get this stuff to your door).

So anyways I'm waiting on some new stuff in the mail right now, Lenola Cream and Strawberry Fields. Mmm. I'm needing a change so for the heck of it I tried one of the bargain priced liquid from two weeks ago and am amazed at the improvement in flavor. More than just tolerable it's really good now. I'm definitely going on a system of ordering enough in advance so I can let it steep. I didn't think it could make that much difference. It does.

I'm glad that you gave them another chance and are enjoying them now that they have steeped. When we started vaping, we knew nothing about steeping. We were fortunate that the vendor we chose had flavors that tasted good to us fresh out of the mailbox. Since then, we discovered ECF and steeping, and we now know that if something does not taste the way we expect right away to let it steep for a while. I am having fun trying different flavors and vendors.

I have had hit and miss luck with aging my juices. There have been a couple that no matter how long I let them sit, they are still awful! A few have gotten better. I still find the really cheap ones just don't have the complex flavor I look for, but for the one or two flavor notes some of them get pretty good after aging.

I hear ya leftofcenter, out of the six I first got (and didn't like) I've only re-tried two of them today and both are good. Most likely I won't like them all though

One is Apple strudel. When I first tried it I don't know WHAT it tasted like but definitely not Apple. The apple flavor is big now. Just smelling the bottle you smell Apple.

This is fun!

So to get to the whole point, I'm assuming two weeks is adequate steep period. That's how long mine have set.

Is there a general rule to how long is too long?

It's oddly juice dependent. Some are best fresh and aren't going to really improve. Others take a few days to weeks. Generally, the more complex the recipe, the better its served by steeping. At first one or two flavors will dominate but over time, the background flavors come out. The juice I DIY is definitely better after a week or two. Simple flavors like bubblegum, banana, cinnamon a day or two.
