What was the time when you said, "hey this could really work for me." I will start.
My fist vape was a "21st century smoke" that I got from muphy's gas station by wal mart. It tasted like a fog machine (horrible) but I quit that night march1st 2011. I then went back a couple days later and got a menthol one, and that was much better. These were disposable and didn't last very long so I went online and googled best electronic cigarette and found all the fake news report ads and such, and after a little research I decided on SmokeTip (a KR808.) I went to the tobacco shop and picked up a njoy to get me by, and it was terrible. Finally my SmokeTip kit came and I charged it up and screwed it together and had my first real good vape. I was so satisfied. SmokeTip is really not a bad deal for beginners. They use kanger horizontal coil cartos that give a pretty good vape. So there is my first "real" vape, what's yours?

Neck deep indeed Foxman, Neck deep indeed:unsure: sometimes I wonder if I am crazy to enjoy this as much as I do. When I talk to some people about it they just look at me funny, like... Ok... Nerd. Hey whatever some people are car nuts, gun nuts, etc. They just don't know. To them an HH357 atomizer is like a dual barrel carburetor to me.

The one that opened my eyes to vaping possibilities was a Volcano disposable. Heard a radio ad and decided to check it out. Tasted horrible but I knew I could make the switch over for good. Luckily I found ECF and found a reputable vendor and 2 1/2 years later I am still vaping and haven't had a cig since 4/18/2009.

For years, I had heard ads on radio stations and given thought to it being an option. In August of 2010, my husband was out of town & I decided WE needed to stop smoking. I looked online & began with Smokestik Medium Menthol. We both quit with it. My husband only vapes about 5 vapes a day, but I vape alot more than I smoked. I tend to go overboard more than he does. I only smoked two cigs after I started vaping, and I have only been tempted twice---once when I was in a casino for three days & once when I was in Rome and I had to make an emergency trip back to the US.
And yes, it is definitely a hobby. Always looking, although I can stop myself most times. My husband always asks me "What could be so interesting on that forum?"!!

A friend told me about e-cigs. I figured it had to be a scam...but also figured what the heck. He directed me to ECF and a spent a couple of days reading, and ended up ordering a kr808d from Vapor4life.

I didn't realize anything right off, cause i wasn't planning to quit smoking. Once I got the e-cig, my smoking decreased to about a half a pack a day within a couple of weeks, and i thought that was pretty cool. But one night when i was having drinks with friends and a lit a cig, i realized i wanted the vapor more than a cig....that was when first i realized it might work. it still took another week or so, dropping to 3, then, 2, then 1 cig a day. Til one day I got home after work and realized i hadn't smoked all day. That way my first smoke -free day in 30-something years.

My last cig was almost 28 months ago :D

No telling what the name of the first one was. It was a disposable that I picked up at a gas station and vaped it silly for about a day (found out they were supposed to last a few days) and went from there. I did what so many do, started there and moved up progressively through models, then to mods.

I think my moment was about 2 days after I got my v2 kit from Eco Smoke in Hsv...I tried it for a day at work and had no cravings for the analog. I'd say the first couple weeks were like a bi-polar roller coaster for me...either I was getting too much nic or not enough (and my mood swings were very apparent)...not to mention withdrawal from the other junk in analogs we are hooked on aside from the nicotine. For me it was the realization I could control this and withdraw from analogs one step at a time. I realized I could control the behavior as well as the nic withdrawal. And it tasted sooooo much better. It was actually empowering in a way the patches, gum, etc., never were.

Now, for my first truly satisfying vape...that would be the Boba's in my LR Boge, sitting inside the Phiniac tank, on top of my LT..at about 4v. Hard part is just going to be trying not to upgrade any of the above. :)

Ha ha, good luck with that. I think we all go through phases in vaping, although you may be stuck on one thing for a while. I am glad you found you vaping nirvana however permanent it might be :) Welcome to the forum!

For me it would be July ye 9th 20-ought-9. I talked the guy at the Smoking everywhere stand at the mall down to 70 bucks for the mini started kit and a pack of refills. It tasted like absolute poo poo but i soon found ECF and then Awesome Vapor and got me an 801 and thats is when it really kick started me and started working. I have had a few slip ups since then, but for the most part i have been smoke free for almost three years.

At lest a pack a day Marlboro light smoker for twenty years. Ordered an ego T May 19th of this year. Arrived on May 21. That's the day. Have not bought or smoked one since. My wife still smokes her Virginia slims, about 2 a day. A pack last her forever. I still walk out and vape with her in the evening. I can't stand down wind of her. They smell awful. I'm down to the lowest strength nicotine level already, 6-8mg. I think I might order 0mg next and give it a shot. I have realized that I vape way more than I ever smoked. I can't help it, love the flavors.
