I prefer compact mods and like wood. So I tried to find an information how to bend a veneer. Seems that this could be made chemically. Found out Super-Soft, but it is not available in Moscow...

Ammonia will help soften the wood. Make a form to shape the veneer into and let dry. Steam will also works well. Be patient don't try to make a sharp bend all at once
