The different layout was the issue, which now is resolved. Seems my Igo prefers ss wicks. LOVE THIS SETUP. Tastes sooo clean and as stated, vaping til bone dry is nice. =]

I'm having success wrapping the coil on the wick before putting the assembly on the atty. I barely have to fiddle with the coils lately. This setup's rockin good.

Don't have a camera that can do close ups, but mesh is 2in by 1in 400 mesh with thick straw. 4 wrap .28 Kanthal A-1 @ .7 ohms. Instant heat so no need for primer puffs.
