So I am at a gas station and the guy behind the counter points to my Ego w/ mini Davide and asks to hold it. I hand it to him right side up and I think he is trying to determine what flavor is in it. Apparently he thought the tank end was the "handle" or something and promptly turned it upside down and started sniffing the battery end. 
He sniffed and sniffed some more. I did not clue him in, because I admit it gave me a chuckle. I did give him one of my cards though.
He knew it was electronic, but I don't think he'd ever seen an Ego type w/tank. He was probably used to the cig-a-like disposables that are sold in his gas station, as those use cartomizers, and both ends kinda look a little alike.
