Was it a joke or false advertisement? HAHA Almost everywhere I've read a cart will last between a half pack to..... some even say is equal to 2 packs. Not sure what tape measure their using. But from what I've seen and been told from PS, the largest which is penstyle delivers only 5-7 cigarettes worth. Very disappointing. I'd like to have a cart about the size of my dietdew can, now that would be something to puff on.

I could easily vape 5-8 cartridges per day. Most manufacturers are way off on their estimates of cartridge capacity. The only relatively accurate way to gauge your intake is using milliliters. While some of your nicotine is burned up or wasted in priming puffs, you can generally estimate the number of ml's you are using in a day. Multiply that by the strength smoking liquid you use and you can come up with a WAG (wild ... guess). Ultimately, your body will tell you if you are over doing it.

Hi there,

From my experience, it very much depends on which carts you are using.

I just use the classic penstyle RN4072 PVs and I have found that I use between 3-4 cartridges per day - used to smoke 30ish cigarettes/day.

Sometimes the carts are more full than others :-x, but on the whole, I'm totally satisfied.

Lots of suppliers now state the expected 'life' of a cartridge - e-cigs.co.uk certainly do and their service is exemplary:cool::cool:.

Wherever you are, could I suggest that you look for a supplier that gives such a description. As noted, Puresmoker certainly does:cool:

The main thing is, don't get disheartened with the PV experience; IMHO, they work, it can just take a while to get what works best for you.

If one cartridge lasts 4 cigarettes, that's 4 cigarettes less that you have smoked.

ATB and good luck with the vaping

The ACS says an average cigarette has 1 or 2 mg of nicotine in it. For the purposes of this argument lets say they are right. If a 'high' strength cart has 18mg of nicotine it would equal be equal to 9-18 cigarettes. Lets say 13 on average. Some amount of the nicotine is going to get wasted, escape, or not used. Even if we say 20% is lost, which I think is a really high number, thats still leaves about 10 cigarettes of nicotine per pack.

So if may not feel like you smoked half a pack but you got that much nicotine.

Hi Catatonia,

You're so right, 90% is waaay off the mark8-o; from my experience, it's been more like a 60-65% saving .

Over the past year I reckon I have spent between £2 - £2.50 per day on vaping:) This includes everything. I used to spend around £7.50 /day on cigarettes8-o.

Ok, this ain't that spectacular, but all I need to keep me on the vape and narrow is my son.

Just to hear the sheer relief in his voice when he tells his mates...

My daddy doesn't smoke anymore

Is, to me, totally priceless.

Yup, you're absolutely right that the marketing of these PVs can be misleading; guess it is up to us to help try to change that.

Gotta agree with you there. I was way off on my estimate of the money I would save using one cartridge a day. I was under the impression each cartridge was equivalent to 1 pack of cigarettes. I figured 30 cartridges would last me a month. Imagine my surprise to discover how quickly a cart "expires".
I quickly arrived at the conclusion that if I intended to continue vaping, the only economical way to do so would be to refill my own carts.

Only wish I had thought of that before I invested $50 in prefilled carts!
