I tend to be a little bit phlegmy I think, just like my father was, for whatever reason.
My nose runs in cold weather, or if I exercise hard, and I clear my throat more often than most.

I only smoked about 5 cigarettes per day, but every morning I'd cough up a few wads of grayish phlegm.
After I started using electronic cigarettes, I didn't cough up any more of that junk at all.

What that tells me is that I was probably clearing that stuff out as fast as it was coming in, so I had none to cough up after I started using my electronic cigarettes. What it also tells me is that people SHOULD be hacking up that garbage, and I would be a little spooked if I wasn't.

Before switching to my PV I smoked about a pack and a half of Camel Non-filtered a day. I've been relatively clean except for when there were delays with my e-juice shipping out and I'm coughing up less and less each day. I'd say its fairly normal. This was very similar to when I experimented with the patch. It "should" be large chunks of blackish to brown sputum for the first few days to a week and finally runny and brownish that upon closer examination is clear with minute sized globules of aforementioned nasty suspended in it. If its all black and solid and has persisted longer than a week I'd consider seeing a doctor. Try feeling it with your fingers. If it feels "mucosy" its good, if it feels hard and "fleshy" that could be a sign of something far worse- visit a doctor.

No, he wasn't endorsing it, he was just generically sharing information,.... but still a local doctor with a Family Clinic in South Elgin, Illinois knows about it and doesn't have anything outwordly negative to say. Hell, he was just happy to see his patients either quit, or switch.

My little sister went to the doc last week, and when he asked her again about quitting, she mentioned that I was using an e-cig and she was going to try it. He had also heard about them, said they really seemed to work for a lot of people, and gave her an enthusiastic thumbs up on trying them.

I smoked for over 35 years, have COPD and just got over bronchitis. I originally started with pg based juice or cartridges. I could not use them I have to change over the VG juice and although I am coughing up some tar and junk from my lungs, I am also going to see my doctor Friday to see how are I am doing. It is not abnormal but always good just to get a check up to make sure all is good.
