Yucky stale taste in my V4Life cartomizer

I'm sure this is common because it's happened to me when my cartomizers seem to be running out of juice. I just filled a cartomizer earlier and it still tastes stale (they start smelling yucky too). Does anyone know why it still tastes bad even after re-filling it? Do I need to clean it or something?

some try to clean them, When they get bad I toss them and get a new one.

It can depend on the flavor of juice you are using. I find that the tobacco flavors tend to get funkier than other flavors, even before the carto is spent. I've heard that some flavors have components in them that "caramelize" in the carto batting, which would change the flavor even after refilling.

It's weird. Maybe I haven't become an expert on the refills yet. I've only refilled this one once and it smells kind of gross when I vape. It's a fruit flavor.

They were TOASTED! Oh my gosh they were so burnt. Haha I was a complete noobie. It was gross removing the insides.
