Hi everyone,

sorry for the noob question, but we all have to start somewhere right? :)

I was wondering if someone could tell me what the slight after taste i am getting using the zatty is...
Or put in other words, what is causing my juice to have a burnt after taste (although not always)?

I am using a provari mini, set to 3.2v and the ao reading is 1.2. I have 3 rings on the wick using the provided wire, all firing seamingly correctly and followed all the instructions from Zen's video concerning first time use etc...

My guess is that it has something to do with the mesh, and tonight i'll be changing it, just to make sure, and for something to do :) using the 32 gauge that came with the kit, (with 4/5 rings this time) and using the other mesh (sorry i'm not sure what the number/name is of that one, but accoring to Zen's video, it the one for more throat hit)

anyway, any help here is greatly appreciated and garenteed to get you at least one like:blush:

All the best,

Lou

Probably not wicking fast enough to keep up with your draw. This will cause some coils to start glowing while you're hitting it and give you the funky taste. You can take the cap off and hit the fire button while blowing on the wick. See if anything starts glowing. Do you tilt it while vaping? Do you have the fill screw in? What pg/VG juice are you using?

Hi Unloaded,
I do tilt while vaping, but i'm not sure what you mean by fill screw in...I've seen 2 otb z-attys and none of them had a screw to fill the hole that i use to fill the tank...
As far as the pg/vg i'm not sure since i'm at that stage where i'm mixing all my "trial and error" bottles, but i'm pretty sure it's 50/50.
if it's not wicking fast enough, what do i need to do to make it wick faster?

personally i would ditch those wicks without thinking bout it, shouldnt have to tip an atty anymore with the right wicks.
What would you use instead? Those were the pre occidized ones.

If it does not wick fast enough you will overheat teflon wick insulator and that does not taste good and is not good for you. just my 2 cents but why make a pv from high grade ss and than put teflon in it?.

I'm not sure I understand

the liquid absorbed by the wick keeps it cool when the coil is hot, if it gets dry wick gets hot and the teflon tube around the wick does also. after time of overheating teflon tube will melt and discolor. I removed mine and taste was much better but that made other problems. I stopped using my zenesis in the end and moved to other genesis

the insulator is fine. and the wicks that come with the zap are basically the old way of doing things. do they work? yup but the newer style of wrapping coils and making wicks yeild much better results, nowadays with a properly rolled wick there is no more need for tipping the atty. i would twist up a nice semisolid 500 and drop it in there. or pop the insulator out and make a big fat Lincoln log and that thing will vape like a disco fog machine.

Does it still have the tiny insulator in the wick hole? If so the small wicks that come with it is more than likely the problem. It's really hard to chain vape those. Take the insulator out, wrap your own that fills the wick hole minus the insulator and you'll be much better off. I don't have to tilt my Z Atty U unless tank is low.

The wick hole has like an o ring in it...
If I understand correctly, you are saying to remove that, get some mesh and build it myself, but making sure that I remove that "o ring" and roll up the mesh so that is fills the entire hole...correct?

Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it.

that'd be it. fatter wick wicks better imo. those tiny one's that come with it have a hard time unless you tilt or take it slow, they just can't keep up, especially if there is considerable amount of vg in the juice.
