Hi, I am using a zeus x rta with the aegis legend 3. Today I bought 2 different coils an alien coil and a tri core fused clapton with resistance of 0.22 and 0.26.

Went to install and when I install the 2 nd coil the short curcuit comes up.

It does not happen when I installed the coils I was currently using which have a resistance of 0.28 each.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue please.

Thanks

Hi and welcome,

Single or dual coil configuration?
ID of coil(s), wraps-width?
Photos?

Cheers

That makes sense. When installing 2 coils, you’ll get half the ohms of the single coil.
Yes, but I still do not know the reason why I was getting a coil short before with these coils honestly. I did not have the issue with wotofo dual core fused clapton with same resistance, although those read around 14ohms instead of 0.09ohms. Now I am trying to figure everything out with these coils and best suited wattage.

well as said currently its marking at 0.09 and it is working well.

That is a bit low on the resistance. It is probably within the margin of error of the 0.1Ω limit, but any lower and it won't fire. Probably when you were able to remove hot spots by installing and testing each coil independently, you were able to bring the resistance up enough that the mod would work. I'd recommend next time picking coils that are a little higher in resistance, say 0.3Ω. Υοur final resistance would be 0.15Ω.

Yes most probably and that is what was going on my mind. But in this case would a lower resistance then what the mod can handle throw a short error?
