The path of least resistance for modifying the rda to a bottomfeeder is to push the center post out the bottom, remove the insulator, cut a narrow channel through the insulator and re-assemble. The nylon insulator is stiff enough to prevent shorting the center post in the atty. I use a Dremel cut-off wheel for the channel. I use a silicone o-ring on the 510 connector to seal the mod and atty so liquid doesn't escape.

Ace hardware supplied hobby quantities of copper and brass sheet. They have several thicknesses to offer.

Very nice! Brass and copper are by far my favourite metals, especially when they are left to oxidise rather than getting the Brasso out every day
