ZMAX V2 with RSST Genisis

Hi Guys,

Im new to this forum and looking for advice. I searched around before posting this.

In Short.

Im losing my rba virginity soon with a RSST Geny.

Im gonna run it on a ZMAX V2.

Im pretty much down with rolling th Mesh wick and oxidizing it (at least i think)

However?

The thing i see done on the youtube tutorials where they "pulse" the coil to get it running nicely. Can this be done with a VV mod like mine?

Yes im aware that my coil has to be above 1.2 oHm.

Even better any1 with experience with a setup like this=

Thanks

Hello and welcome to vaping and ECF. I can't speak to the zmax - I use a vamo v3. As for the RSST, my first RBA. I got it before I learned alot about vaping(now one of my obssesions), and not only was it easy to set up, it turned out to be one of the easiest out there. Couple of features that make it that way - Has an insulated wick hole - helps combat shorts from coil to body via the ss wick. The bottom of the tank insulates the wick from the lower portion of the body - again coil/ wick/ body shorts. Poly propylene tank - no cracking from juices. Spring tension coil capture - easy. The list goes on.
Has it's downsides - heavy, big not the prettiest thing out there. All in all - I always reccomend the RSST to new RBA vapers - especially because of the ease of use, reliability and of course $$.

Pulsing to work out shorts may or may not work for you. It really depends on how much is shorted. It will definitely take some tinkering.

Personally, on VV/VW mods I like to use an ekowool sleeve over the mesh and wrap the coil on that. It insulates so there's no chance of shorting (even with unoxidized mesh) and it holds some extra juice which almost eliminates the chances of dry hits. 3mm ekowool should fit over a SS wick that snugly fits the hole in the RSST.

The pulsing method can work on a Zmax. What makes it work better on a mech is that sometimes, you will get very low resistance with an unoxidized wick. I would say you should torch the mesh before you roll it. You also should torch the wick after you roll it a bit. This will help with pulsing on a VV mod.
