Not sure if I should post this here but Im new.So I bought a zna clone at a b&m. it has z2 threading and a ss body so im not sure who makes it. First one I got auto fired all the time, 2nd and third one dont seem to change watts. No matter where I set the watts it feels like the same vape. It def. works better with a fresh battery. I checked the volts and it seems to only be putting out 3.1-3.0 volts at any setting. Has anyone had any roblems like this with a dna chip? I have a 30w box mod so I know how it works and what the vape should feel like. Im about ready to get a authentic zna or put a evolv chip in the clone. Thanks in advance

3V Output doesn't sound Right. Because Most DNA Clones have a Minimum Output of about 4.0 ~ 4.4V

Also, Using a Fresh or Not so Fresh Battery Should make a Difference.

I would take that Unit Back to where you got it and have them Test its Output with a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM).

It's probably not an official DNA board in the clone, so those (like on fasttech) have the ability to drop below battery voltage.
That said, I have a ZNA coming from Focal... sounds to be the same as what you got. This is a known problem with the China made board, same as in the Hana clones. You can either take it back "again", or do as I had planned..... open it up and drop an official DNA 30 in it :) I don't have mine (ZNA 30) yet, but don't imagine a swap is going to be all too hard if you can solder reasonably well..... can also PM me if you need some help learning to solder, I'll help as much as I can.... being over email....

There are a Lot of DNA and Similar Clone Board floating around.

I Haven't seen any ZNA Clones that can Fire down to 3.0 Volts. But that Doesn't mean that Someone has not made one that Can.

An Evolv DNA-30 is step up only. So it can only boost what is in the battery, it can not reduce the voltage. So if you're only getting 3.3v there is something very wrong.

Isn't this One Reason Why the DNA Boards became Popular with OEM/Cloners?

Because they were Less Expensive than a Board that did Both Buck and Boost.

Oh I don't know about more expensive, a Kick-2 is only $45, and it would be easy to put those same components on a flat board. That's basically all they've done for the new Innokin board (just used a 20w chip instead of 15)

The owner of the shop has been real good about it. He loaned me his box mod while we figure out what's going on.

DAVID1975 how is it ? Does it work as it should ?

O ya, been working perfectly so far. IDK about the one you got, but mine will take an 18500 in both flat and button top. With the 500 and a kayfun at 1.5-1.8 at 10 watts, Ive been able to go all day with 2 batteries. I've not yet pulled mine apart as it's working fine, but I might try to put a p-fet set up in for some reverse protection in the future (room permitting).
