So I just got my 510 in from Cignot tonight, came home from work and it was in the mail (ordered it Friday night and got it Monday afternoon sometime... they shipped through the weekend. These guys rock sox). I am super happy with it. I started on a unit from Smoke Everywhere and was super disappointed in it, but the 510 has exceeded my expectations.
Just for background, I started smoking at 12. By the time I was 13 I was smoking between 10 and 12 non-filter roll your owns a day (courtesy of mother) and the only thing thats changed in 10 years was that I went from roll your owns to camels.
The 510 unit I got provides great vapor and an excellent throat hit. The only complain I have is that it tastes like s**t, but they said the new atomizer would, so not a big deal.
I do have a couple questions though. At some point, the filler in the cartridges they sent me slid forward ONTO the bridge dealy, and now it tastes extra bad. So my question is, when will I know to replace the cartridge? What is the sign that the cartridge is empty and needs to be refilled / replaced? If its a taste deal, I think I'm gonna miss that one...
Also, if I choose instead to "drip" directly onto the bridge, how many drops in enough / to many, so I don't flood the atomizer? And in relation to that, how many "hits" can I expect to get before I need to drip again and will there be a sign to tell me when that needs to be done?
Thanks to everyone who pointed me in the right direction, I appreciate the help ;)

A tip for the bad taste...

Pop the atty off and blow through it into a napkin. Keep blowing through it until no more liquid comes out. Then direct drip a couple drops straight to the atty. Puff a couple times but don't inhale. Then vape per usual. That should get all of the primer fluid out of the atty, which is where you get the bad taste.

Ususally a couple of drips onto the bridge will do ya right. No more than 3 normally - and dont worry about flooding, its really common when dripping, just blow it out (I blow from the cart end, find it easier) and add another drip if its not tasty enough. If you're using manual batts you should be fine. Trust me I flood a lot cos sometimes the juice comes out faster than i think its going to (I try NOT to squeeze the bottles, that usually doesn't end well lol). PG/VG mixes tend to come out via gravity alone, perahps the tiniest pressure on the botle, for drips - VG is thicker so all VG liquids might need some more forceful encouragement. PG alone is like water - watch out for that one lol.
I have flooded my atty many many times and it hasn't let me down yet. So I dont think constant flooding can really hurt it too much - at least not in my experience. YMMV of course.
As for hits - heck I dont even count any more - when the taste fades I drip some more. Also depends HOW you vape and how often. I tend to vape like someone drinking a milkshake who REALLY wants to finish it. So thats often, often chain vaping in the evenings, and with hard pulls. Its still slower pulls than using a real cig, but hard in vaping terms. You do get into a rythmn with dripping though, if you're not walking aorund too much. Not sure I'd manage so well 'on the go' as it were, but me, my PT,(which I use a USB/AC wall plug for btw) and my PC are all quite happy in the evenings :D
Hopefully that helped some on the dripping questions.
