At a family get together a few years ago my dad was giving me grief about my playing either Diablo 2 or Guild Wars (I forget which as I'm getting old) and couldn't understand how a grown adult in his 40's could sit around and play video games until my little sister asked him how old he was when he played 'Eastern Front'. She then explained to my kids and hers that 'Grandpa used to kick us off the computer so that he could play his game'. The shocking thing to the kids was that we only had 1 computer in the whole house. I didn't have the heart to tell them we also only had 1 tv and 1 phone.....

Well, see, we're the same age roughly LOL
We never had a computer or any sort of video game. I do remember when Pong came out - we didn't have it, but a neighbor kid did and he/she (I don't remember, too, due to age LOL) brought it over one afternoon and we all sat around the kitchen table marveling at it!!

We did have 2 TVs, though, but only one color TV, which was in my parents' bedroom, and I remember asking permission to watch a Triumph concert on MTV once and being allowed to sit in their room and watch it!

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-1000 S, which I had for a week and took back to get one with TWO 5-1/4 inch floppy drives - man, I was STYLIN'!!!

PS - Zork does not like my 64bit Win7 computer.... I may just have to set up an old XP unit in the playroom "for the kids".....
