USA Ohm Meter Problem?

I just tested a brand new USA Ohm Meter Ultimate on a 1.2 ohm KangerTech Subtank Mini. My multimeter is reading 1.1. The USA Ohm Meter Ultimate is reading .630 when screwed in all the way. If I back it out 1/2 of the way my reading is 1.06, If I back it out a full turn it's 1.63.

What am I doing wrong?

I realize you said it is new, but did you check the battery charge? low batteries at least in multimeters can cause them to be off, maybe the same thing?

It didn't come with batteries so I put in (2) brand new Energizer AA's. After I started getting weird readings I checked the batteries and they're fine. From what I've read, you need to screw the atomizer down so it's snug, but not tight. Doing so gives me a reading of .638-.639, which is way off of the 1.2 ohm it's supposed to be.

I'd clean it out with contact cleaner and put a dab of lectric lube on the threads. Then I'd just email my supplier if still bad.

Can you dissemble the unit and check connections?
