Built Russian 91 for first time. here sizzle but no vapor!?

I built my russian 91 for the second time tonight. just like in this video:

fires good. filled up my tank and hit it. i here sizzle but absolutely no vapor? ...? what happened?

my first build tasted burnt so i did it again and now nothing?

anyone want to help me out here?

Most likely a wicking issue. Drain it out and take a look at your wick/coil. Give it a quick pulse fire when broken down to see if you're getting anything or if your coil is just glowing, unless your wick looks dry, then just skip. I don't use silica, so I can't comment much on that as I use cotton.
Have you considered using cotton? I personally think it is very simple to use and wicks pretty good.

If you don't have enough current flow to the coil for the diameter of the wire and resistance of the coil it won't vaporize properly.

....also if the wick is too soaked it may take a few seconds to begin vaping properly...might take a hit or two to start working right if that's the case.

If enough current is supplied and the wick is wet it will vape even if you wrapped that coil around the silica tightly.
