I have been building coils for a month. I have tried wrapping kanthal wire on silica wicks; micro coils and cotton wick and still I get very little vapor. I don't know what it is I changed batteries still no difference. I'm using a Sony vtc5 battery on a smokteck mech mod magneto and a nimbus clone. Help me please anyone?need answers

are you using drill bits to wrap and what ohm are you coming out to and how many wraps are you doing and what gauge are you using
also have a Nimbus, been using 28ga Kanthal/9 wraps on a 3/32 (PC) screwdriver....been coming out at about 1.8 to 2.0 ohm, using Cotton wicking....pretty Tasty on my SID, haven't tried on my SVD yet.
2 thing you can try first is try a couple less wraps try to get it around 1.2 ohms know for a fact the svd will fire anything ov 1 ohm and second try using a cotton cloud under the coil instead of a wick through the coil. also are you building dual or single coils
@claymationECW, if you mean me, i'll give your suggestion a try, haven't had any luck with dual coils; cannot seem to get it rite yet....i'll keep trying tho

@sando7 yep meant you also if you have a smaller screw driver 5/64 is the best size for micro's if not 3/32 works
Yes I'm doing dual coils. And using a tiny screw driver 5/64. I'm also getting .7 with 30 ga. 7-9 wraps last time I recalled.. Bad memory.
It just seems like my nimbus isn't he at in as intense as others hence not a lot of vapor..
Yes they be aligned airholes to coil. Never drilled them but as I see on YouTube I still should get more vapor
Make sure you are not using too much cotton you could be chocking your coils out its a learning curve to get just the right amount of cotton also you could try the cotton cloud wick as well

air flow around the coils is critical to vapor production. make sure your cotton isn't restricting the air to the coil or in front of the hole itself. i run my cotton through the coil and tuck the short end under the coil and push it back so the face and top of the coil are exposed. a pic of your build will bring the most help. lots of more knowledgeable folks than i hanging around.
This is important. you could wrap the crappiest coil in the world and as long as you have your wick set up not too tight or loose inside the coil and proper air flow you should get great vapor production.
Make sure your coils are up high enough that the airflow holes are even with or below them. you want the air to come in, hit the coil and flow up through the drip tip. If the coil is too low the air will hit the top of it and you won't get much vapor. You should also leave some space for air under the coils, so the air can flow.
If you do that you should get plenty of vapor.
